Midstate Paving is a driveway paver, and a 2025 commenter in r/Connecticut said Midstate Paving from Wallingford replaced their driveway and recommended them. A recent Google customer says the finished driveway looks gorgeous. The base under the asphalt is where the work gets specific. A 2024 customer said their driveway had no base, and Nick Jr explained that adding one could make it last 25-30 years; that 2024 customer said Nick Sr also advised on where to end the driveway and how to fix a lip at the front. A 2025 customer wrote that Nick paved a large shared driveway and two private driveways: in one day they tore out the old driveways and releveled a new base, and the new driveway went in six weeks later. A 2024 customer whose house sits at the bottom of a hill said Nick and his crew designed a solution to the drainage problem. A 2024 customer said Nick supervised the replacement of a cracked 25-year-old driveway himself, brought slight damage to a garage-door trim piece to their attention, and reimbursed them for the repair. A 2023 customer wrote that they gave Nick an $8,000 down payment for a driveway and patio and then could not reach him. A 2024 customer whose driveway was done in 2019 said a 10-year warranty had been offered in exchange for a review, and that a hairline-crack repair dragged from March into June before Nick asked them to hire someone else; that 2024 customer later updated the review to say Nick dropped off a check for more than they requested. A 2022 customer said the company promised to come look at a driveway but never did and did not return messages for two weeks. Connecticut lists its home improvement contractor registration, HIC.0575852, as active, held by MIDSTATE PAVING INC.

Midstate replaced my old driveway that had severe drainage issues. Nicks plan for dealing with drainage far exceeded any other company that I got a quote from, and at a lower cost. He was passionate and detailed, and watching his crew work was impressive, to say the least. It's been almost 2 years, and I am still excited about how fantastic my driveway turned out.
Nick and his crew at Midstate did a fantastic job! He delivered everything he promised. He paved a large shared driveway and 2 private driveways. In one day they tore out the old driveways and reinstalled and releveled a new base. 6 weeks later Nick, crew, and fleet of asphalt trucks come in to install the new driveway. Picture perfect job using Suzio virgin asphalt. 2 years later the driveways are still perfect and no issues. Highly recommend Midstate.
I very highly recommend Midstate Paving. My house is down a hill at the end of a cul-de-sac, so we get ALOT of water problems when it rains. Nick and his crew designed a perfect solution to deal with this drainage issue and it looks/works great! They were very easy to work with- true professionals.
