MJ Armstrong Flooring works out of 42 Ritchie Road in Lynn and says it has been installing floors since 1987 — 39 years by its own count. What customers actually described, writing in 2022 and 2023, is floor installation and nothing else: hickory hardwood in a kitchen, laminate, vinyl and sheet goods, floating floors, moldings put back where they belonged. Two names keep surfacing in those 2022 reviews: Matt and Rob. One homeowner wrote that they arrived at 11 and were finished by 2:30, with the site left clean and the moldings replaced correctly. Another, on a job where the homeowner had bought the flooring separately, said the crew hauled debris away every day and that afterward he could find no discrepancies anywhere. A 2022 reviewer signing off as Tom in Winthrop said he would call them for his next job, and one customer wrote that he had used the company on his own home and rental properties for about 15 years. The one bump is small and dated. In an August 2022 review a customer noted the crew missed the original installation date because of a truck problem and came the following day instead — and still recommended them. Two things to know before calling. Angi and HomeAdvisor carry the same nine reviews, not eighteen: it is one set of customer accounts showing up on two sites. And that set stops in January 2023, so there is nothing current to tell you how the company is running today. Ask for two or three jobs finished in the past year, and confirm that Matt and Rob are the ones who will be in your house.
