MM Services is an Everett, Massachusetts painting business run by an owner customers call Manny (Manuel) — the kind of shop homeowners call for an interior repaint or a room refresh, on an old house as often as a new one. Its written record, five distinct reviews from 2019 and 2020, leans strongly positive but isn't unanimous. Four reviewers describe a crew that showed up, worked hard, communicated clearly, and finished on time — one called the price for a same-day job "very reasonable," another said Manny came back and fixed a paint issue afterward at no charge. But one detailed 2019 account tells a different story: on an old-home renovation, the reviewer said prep work was skipped, hardware was painted over, and it took three callbacks to get things fixed — and that the quoted price crept up during the job. HomeAdvisor lists a Massachusetts trade license for the business, CS-119550, expiring in September 2027 — that's the directory's own record, not something checked against the state registry. Every review on file predates 2021, so there isn't a recent account to weigh either way. Before booking, it's worth asking directly about current pricing and getting the scope of prep work spelled out, especially on an older home — the one negative account here was specifically about that gap.

Manny and his crew are hard workers. They were respectful of my belongings and did a great job in the estimated time. I recommend them to anyone.
Manuel was excellent. Reliable. Good communicator. On time high quality and great price. Done in one day. He worked hard and took care of everything.
It's an old house. When unexpected problems arose, he always explained and gave alternatives. Very easy to work with. Very personable. Very reasonable price. Highest recommendation.
I would not recommend Manny unless you have the most basic of paint jobs. We hired him to paint parts of an old home renovation, and he knew we wanted a high quality professional finish. We were sorely let down. He / his team had little to no attention to detail. Inside the house basic patching and sanding prior to painting wasn't done so I had to get him back to address that (over 60 spots needed touching up / addressing). Walls that needed to be finished and painted were just painted (no sanding to get the walls even), window / door hardware had paint on them (and in some instances were painted over) and we had to call him back three times to fix his work. We still have architraves that are patchy (clearly only one coat of paint applied), he painted the ceiling and it was shiny despite our request to have matt paint on the ceiling - we had to get him back to repaint it and it took some convincing as he didn't think it was his fault, however after he did repaint it, it was fine. Cutting in was very poor and I had to get issues addressed, especially on our custom made built in cabinets where his team let paint bleed where it shouldn't have. The front door was supposed to be stripped, patched and repainted however it was never stripped and instead there was only one coat of paint plastered over the old paintwork and there was clearly no sanding or prep work done with some of the old paintwork is showing through. He did do a good job of replastering part of the living room ceiling. Manny also kept trying to up the project cost throughout the project, despite what we had agreed on the contract. The issues continue and we hope we can get resolution through Home Advisor.
Manny is a complete professional. We had an issue with some paint after the fact, and he came back and fixed it at no charge, no questions asked. He was fantastic.
