The thing customers keep describing is a builder they didn't have to stand over. Two of the four people who have reviewed Monteo Development Group ran their projects from somewhere else — one was off-island for most of a four-unit duplex renovation, another managed a kitchen remodel remotely — and both wrote about steady contact and decisions they were willing to hand to Kiril Stojanov while they were away. Monteo works out of Sandwich on Route 6A and, by its own account, has been building on Nantucket for more than a decade — first as Stojanov Inc., recently rebranded and expanded onto Cape Cod. The company describes itself as family-owned: Kiril Stojanov, who says he started as a carpenter apprentice and worked up to general contractor, runs the building side, and his wife Ivana is co-founder and managing director. Custom new builds, remodels, additions, accessory dwelling units and property management are what it says it takes on. The written history is short, and it's worth being clear about that: four Google reviews, all posted in 2026, all five stars. In a February 2026 review, a Nantucket business owner called the renovation of all four units of his employee-housing duplex a high-stakes job and said the updates were thorough and the guidance honest while he was off-island. A January 2026 reviewer described a garage turned into a studio. Another that month, an interior designer who works with many builders, singled out the cabinet work in a kitchen and said the project stayed on budget. The newest, from June 2026, covers a commercial renovation on Nantucket. One thing to pin down before signing: the licence. The company's own site lists a Massachusetts construction supervisor number, CS-115496, but that is its own claim, not something confirmed against the state registry — ask for the current licence and insurance certificates and check the number yourself. Worth knowing too that the Monteo name is new; the same people traded as Stojanov Inc. until the rebrand, so references and permit history sit under both names. For an island or Cape project you can't supervise daily — a custom build, an ADU, a whole-house renovation — this is a reasonable call. Just go in knowing you'd be hiring on a young public record.
