More Than Able is a pool-removal outfit first. Of the six permits on its BuildZoom page, four are inground pool removals — Medway, Sharon, Holbrook — filed between 2021 and September 2025 at values from $14,000 to $23,700. That is the clearest picture of what the Hopkinton company does and what the job costs. The written reviews are older, and remarkably consistent. Across 14 Angi ratings averaging 4.9, all but one of them five stars, homeowners writing between April 2018 and January 2021 describe the same pattern: Josh answers, prices it, and the equipment shows up. A July 2018 customer had an entire pool demolished in two days. A June 2018 job took out an inground pool and excavated the whole yard in under four business days. A May 2018 homeowner whose shed and pen were wrecked by a falling tree had the demolition finished within one business day of signing, and in a January 2021 review another said he called the next day, gave an estimate at the house, and did the job that same day. Those reviews also show the range beyond pools. A May 2020 customer mentioned tree removal and shed moving priced alongside the pool work; a 2018 reviewer listed excavation, demolition and landscaping together; and in February 2019 a homeowner credited him with bathroom improvements delivered inside their budget and timeline. The company's own site describes pulling out concrete, gunite, fiberglass and steel-wall pools, then filling, loaming and seeding the space back to lawn, plus barn, shed, deck and old-house demolition and building patios, fire pits and retaining walls. Two things to sort out before hiring. Every written account on file runs from 2018 to early 2021 — the permits show work continuing into 2025, so ask for references from recent jobs rather than relying on the older ones. And the paperwork disagrees about who runs the company: its website says Joshua Newman owns and operates it, while the BuildZoom profile names Eric Danforth. BuildZoom also lists a Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration, #162143, issued in June 2026 — that is the directory's entry rather than a state confirmation, so ask to see the registration and the insurance certificate yourself. For a pool that needs to come out and the yard put back to lawn, this is the specialty, and the permit values give you a real price range to test a quote against. Get the fill material, the compaction and the final grade written into that quote.
“General Laborer - More Than Able Pool Removal & Demolition”
“Josh, Bill, and Johnny were absolutely spot on. They took the pool down in record time. They took all the remains out of the yard. They really saved us with our insurance company. My wife and I are eternally grateful for what they did.”
He called the next day...came to the house...gave me an estimate....and did the job that day. Very impressed. Wonderful
Came pretty fast (same day), did the job. It was hassle-free.
Hard-working, Honest, Easy to work with!!
Josh is very easy to work with. He did everything he said he would do and much quicker than I expected. He also gave me a good price on some tree removal and shed moving that I needed done. You should consider him for pool removal or any other job that requires heavy equipment.
Josh was very responsive, personable, transparent and professional. He worked with us to help make sure we were able to tackle the items we wanted within our budget and timeline. We love the improvements he made to the bathrooms.
