The owner of the company explained the process to me step by step and he really cared about making our home safe. His team was very attentive. I made sure that I saved this company's contact information to my phone for any other jobs or for others with the same issue. Thank you Morry and your team for all you have done for my family!!!
Alvin from Morry Remediation and Solutions responded to a I request posted on Angi on 9/2/2024 needing mold removed from basement stating that he could do a walkthrough and spray any mold that evening. He arrived that evening with his son, (introduced as Morry) and I brought him to the basement. While viewing the basement he sated that he had a chemical that would safely remove the mold. After we returned to the main floor he started looking at our ceilings an stated that the dark areas on the ceiling were caused by mold and that the outer sections of the ceiling and top sections of the walls must be removed. He stated that his crew could remove those sections and assured me that his plasterer would be able to replicate the ceiling patterns. We sat down with my husband and started discussing prices. It came up that we were also in contact with roofers and had received one bid. He asked what amount the roofer was asking. When we told him, he said he could do the work for much less. While we were discussing what needed to be done and the cost, he sent his son down to the basement to spray the floors and walls. After further discussion we signed a contract agreeing to pay $17,000.00 for removal of the mold and replacement of the roof and gutters. We gave him an initial deposit of $5,600.00. At some point I mentioned that there was a problem with the electrical system in the the house had a fuse box and the feed line was under the siding rather than in a conduit on the outside of the siding. He offered to have an electrician working out of his warehouse look at it. His crew began began removing sections of the ceilings and walls along the outer sections of the living room and dining room on 9/4/2024. Alvin and the afore mentioned electrician did a walk through of the house with me. I pointed out the limited number of electrical outlets and mentioned that I would like ceiling fans in a couple rooms. They made several additional lighting recommendations. After further discussion I signed a contract to "upgrade electric service" for $12,500.00. After Alvin and the electrician left, I started looking through the trash bags full of dry wall that his crew had brought out and was confused because I found no signs of mold. After the crew left I did a more thorough search through the bags and still found no signs of mold. That evening my husband and I decided that we did not want to replace any lights at that time. I called Alvin and told him we changed our mind about the lights and only wanted upgraded wiring and outlets and switches. When his crew arrived on 9/5/2024, I told them not to do any more cutting of walls or ceiling until after I spoke with Alvin. I called Alvin and told him I saw no signs of mold and did not want any more cutting done. He was insistent that the mold was there, behind the insulation. I relented and had his workers finish removing the sections marked for removal. In the afternoon of 9/5/2024, the electrician and his assistant up graded the outside parts of the electrical system and exchanged the fuse box for a electrical panel with circuit breakers. The morning of 9/6/2024 I had the outlets tested and learned the outlets are grounded and the wiring going from the garage to the house is in good condition. When the electrician arrived I told him we were not going forward as planned and that I had previously told Alvin we wanted no changes to the lighting. I called Alvin and told him about our decision regarding the electrical work and that I did not believe what he was saying about the mold and that I wanted proof. He insisted that if I don't change the house wiring that the house would blow up if I plugged in an air conditioner. That there was no ground and no neutral wiring going to the house. He continued to argue about both. I sent the electrician away and told Alvin I wanted no further work do...
Grea company, did what was agreed to. Plaster guys are phenomenal can’t tell where the new walls begin.
Staff was very professional and always on time. They did a great job, but the follow up was not satisfactory. Owner didn’t give a certificate of warranty as promised. Also, the spray for mold on my foundation, which I paid extra for, was sprayed hap hazardly whereby it was all over items that remained in the cellar. It was sprayed on my closet door, handrails and floor. Owner never responded upon my request! On another note, I found it interesting that owner responds when he gets 5 stars, but doesn’t respond to other reviews! What a joke!
It’s been three months since they took mold samples from our apartment and we have yet to receive results. Considering the fact that mold is extremely dangerous, not giving timely results is unprofessional. Update: 4 months and still no results. Tried to charge us another $450 to get the results sent to us a second time. Also does not pick up the phone and will avoid the situation.
