Moxie Pest Control, based in Canton, is a high-volume operation — 1,598 Google ratings averaging 4.7 — built on quarterly treatment plans for the everyday stuff: ants, spiders, wasp and hornet nests, termite bait stations. The reviews name an enormous rotating cast of field technicians — Adrian, Kaila, Dairiny, Charlie, Chandler, Josh, Anthony, Dante, and dozens more — each credited with a specific fix: a hornet nest tracked down and sprayed on a roof, termite bait stations installed and photographed for a customer's records, a beehive found and cleared during a routine visit. Two things run through the praise consistently: technicians who explain what they're doing before they start, and small considerate touches — text alerts before arrival (so a doorbell doesn't set off the dog), avoiding a yard's pet or play areas on request, photos left behind as proof of the work. But a second pattern runs through the complaints just as consistently, and it isn't about the pest work itself. At least six reviews from June–July 2026 describe door-to-door salespeople ignoring posted 'No Soliciting' signs and refusing to leave when asked — in one case returning three times in a week — and reviewers use words like 'harassment' and 'trespassing'; a similar account appears in a July 2025 review. Two Nextdoor posts from around the same time describe residents growing suspicious of a Moxie rep going door to door with no visible company truck. Separately, several reviews describe friction with the business side: a 2026 review says a signed contract omitted services (mice and flies coverage) that were verbally promised; another 2026 review says the company pitched an unneeded $11,000 insulation treatment for a rodent problem three other companies didn't confirm; a 2025 review says a contract couldn't be cancelled without a $400 fee; and a 2026 review describes repeated missed appointment windows despite confirmed call-ahead times. For a routine ant or wasp job, the volume of specific, technician-credited results is real and hard to wave away. But the door-to-door sales conduct and the contract terms are worth asking about directly before signing anything — get the service scope in writing, confirm cancellation terms up front, and be wary of an unprompted upsell.
