When a routine toilet and Washlet bidet-seat install hit a dead local shutoff valve, the homeowner said MPL Plumbing coordinated a temporary building-wide water shutoff with the property manager and came back for a second visit to finish the job properly. It's the kind of follow-through that shows up across the reviews on file for this one-year-old Swampscott shop, run by Michael Duarte. On Thumbtack, where all five written reviews and its background check live, MPL carries a perfect 5.0-star record across 14 ratings and has been hired 10 times as a two-person operation. The reviews describe a same-visit fix for a clogged kitchen sink, a sink repair praised by an older customer for its responsiveness, an in-progress toilet installation praised for patience and clear explanations, and a small vanity-sink swap worked into the schedule on short notice. The reviews describe specific problem-solving — coordinating a building water shutoff, working a small job into a tight schedule — rather than generic praise, which is worth noting for a business this new.

Mike is very patient and thorough. My project is still ongoing, but I wanted to leave a review now because I highly recommend him. He takes the time to explain things clearly and approaches the work with great attention to detail. Great experience overall. The installation ended up being more complicated than expected because the local shutoff valve wasn't working, which required coordinating a temporary building water shutoff with the property manager. He came back for a second visit to complete the job, installed my new TOTO toilet and Washlet bidet seat, picked up the additional installation materials needed, and even helped carry the old toilet downstairs. Everything was installed properly and working perfectly. I also appreciated that he kept me updated when running behind schedule and took the time to make sure everything was done correctly. The final result looks great, and I would definitely recommend him for plumbing work. (Details: Replace an existing toilet - 1 toilet; Toilet Installation or Replacement; Hired on Thumbtack)
I'm 65 years old and I really can't get around the house much as I used to Ha. I had some issues with my sink and I was looking around for reasonable priced quotes and that's when I came into contact with Micheal (MPL). He's a young man who you can tell has a lot of ambition towards his work ethic. If you are looking for Quick and Easy AND responsive work, stay in contact with MPL. They are definitely worth the change HaHa.
Great service and professionalism! They came out quickly for a clogged kitchen sink, explained the issue clearly, and fixed it on the spot. On time and fairly priced. Everything was cleaned up before they left. Would definitely use them again.
We had a small project and Mike quickly worked us into his schedule while he was nearby on another project. Great work and great value. Would highly recommend him and will hire him again.
