Mr. Painting and More INC

Mr. Painting and More is a Hyannis painting company that, as the name promises, does rather more than painting — and the reviews bear that out. Its Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration, number 204208, is verified active with the state registry in the company's own name, and Google shows 4.9 stars from 112 ratings. Painting is the core. Reviewers describe a 2,800 square foot four-bedroom interior taken on with stained trim sanded and prepped, eleven closet interiors and bifold doors included; a whole exterior sanded, painted and stained with rotted trim and shingles replaced; a chimney scraped and painted on a high-peak oceanfront roof; and decks prepped properly — sanded, scraped, rotten boards replaced — before any paint went on. The 'and more' is real work too: a kitchen remodel, a quartz countertop, floors refinished, entry and storm doors supplied and painted, a full deck replacement, power washing, and a June 2024 job repairing severe ceiling water damage to a deadline before the July 4th weekend. What customers name over and over is the owner. Joe checks in daily, comes to the house to look at the work, quotes fast — one 2022 reviewer had a call returned, a site visit and a quote inside 24 hours — and sends photos and videos to owners who are not local to the property. Several reviewers describe him spotting things that needed doing that they had not asked about, and a number have used the company repeatedly, one calling it their complete home repair relationship since buying a house in Yarmouth. The caution comes from the one negative on file, a BBB review saying a door started peeling within a month and that months of broken promises followed before the customer was, in their words, completely ghosted. Nothing else in the record describes a warranty problem, but it is worth agreeing in writing what happens if a finish fails, and how long the workmanship is guaranteed for. Note also that the written record has thinned recently — one review in the last six months against a busy 2023 to 2025.
