Murphy Coal & Oil Co. is based in Stoughton, Massachusetts, and has served heating and fuel customers since 1886. It provides residential and commercial fuel delivery, oil and waste-oil furnace sales and service, heating maintenance, HVLS fans, Sunfire heaters, and heat-pump and mini-split systems; the company identifies itself as an EnergyLogic premier dealer in New England. Recent customers describe fast, professional service. A January 2026 reviewer said a waste-oil heater was restored the same day during freezing weather, while 2025 reviews praise major installations, maintenance, routine repairs, prompt communication, and responsive staff. Murphy may fit residential or commercial customers needing heating equipment, fuel delivery, or waste-oil furnace service. Before work begins, confirm equipment compatibility, emergency response terms, pricing, maintenance intervals, and whether the requested system is covered by the company’s technicians. Its long operating history and specialized EnergyLogic focus are clear from the company’s own account. Customers should still get the work scope and charges in writing, especially for emergency visits and larger installations.
With windchill way below zero the waste oil heater in my shop stopped working, I left a message in an emergency situation thinking the pipes would freeze and burst. Mark returned my call and had his crew, Larry & Matt at my shop the same day. Very honest and professional group of guys. Working late and getting my waste oil burner back up and running the same day. Can't thank them enough. Great company to do business with.
The team at Murphy Coal & Oil has always been there for my place of business. And there's really nobody else out there I would even consider using for what they do. I've used them for major installation jobs, maintenance and routine repairs. And I have always found them to be very responsive, understanding and easy to deal with. Mark is running a great team over there. And the lead tech Scot is very good at what he does. As a manager, I know it can be very difficult finding an employee like Scot. And the fact that Scot has worked there for as many years as he has tells me that Murphy is a place that takes care of their employees.
When I communicate with Murphy Coal & Oil Co. there are 'humans' on the other end. They are prompt and efficient, and all of the soft skills that are hard to find in many businesses...they still have them. Thank you, Murphy Coal & Oil. Lynne
