My Color Magic Painting

The job that says the most about My Color Magic is one nobody would photograph: a Watertown couple's unfinished basement, which they described as disgusting, sanded, prepped and painted in early 2026 until the concrete floors looked clean and the odors were sealed in. The room is their laundry and storage now. Hovhannes — Hovo to his customers — runs the company out of Watertown, doing interior and exterior painting, cabinet painting, deck and fence staining and power washing for homes and businesses. The site says eight years in business. Its Google page carries 4.9★ across 37 ratings, and his own name appears in most of them. Planning is where customers start. A June 2026 homeowner singled out how clearly the work was laid out beforehand and how flexible the scheduling was, with Hovhannes there in person at the start and the finish. In a 2025 review, a customer whose wooden siding and trim needed a lot of wood replaced before painting said he managed the complications and kept her in the loop at each stage. Another 2025 customer, having kitchen cabinets repainted, was told every day what time the crew would arrive. Then the prep. In a 2022 review, a homeowner described a power wash and a full day of scraping old paint off the house before two coats went on. A 2024 customer had wallpaper stripped before the paint and called the result a transformation. A 2025 deck job started with what that customer called an amazing power wash and sanding. Several customers also credit Hovhannes with the colors themselves — a 2021 reviewer with a vaulted ceiling and a wall full of dents and gouges said the patching was expert and the color he suggested was perfect. Before signing, two things to raise. The Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration on file under My Color Magic Painting Inc is expired on the state registry. And the company states on its own site that it is OSHA-trained and licensed for lead paint removal; those are its claims rather than anything confirmed by a registry here, so on a house built before 1978 ask to see the lead certificate along with the insurance. For interior rooms, cabinets, or an exterior that needs serious scraping before paint, this is a small crew that does the dull part first. Ask for the schedule in writing — a 2025 customer was told the arrival time every morning, and that is worth having.
