Accura Construction is a Burlington, Massachusetts general contractor run by owner Paul Allain, and the customers who've hired them describe him as hands-on across the whole job — contractor, manager, and coordinator rolled into one. BuildZoom lists the company's work as remodels, additions, whole-house builds, framing, roofing, and siding, and shows 19 completed projects on file. What stands out most is a 2025 review from a Lexington homeowner who says they've used Accura for 17 years — for bathroom and kitchen remodeling, a large porch rebuild, and fixing structural problems in an older, complicated house — and calls Paul reliable and unwilling to cut corners. Another 2025 review describes a 2024 renovation in Cambridge that gutted a third-floor attic and added a new bathroom, dormers, a new heating system, and finish work. A third customer, whose historic three-family property renovation ran into one unforeseen problem after another, said the experience would have been difficult to manage with a less experienced crew. Worth asking about directly: BuildZoom's own check of state records didn't turn up an active license on file for the company, and the business's age isn't consistent across sources — BuildZoom says it's operated since 1991, while BBB lists 16 years in business, closer to the 17-year figure the Lexington customer gave. For a homeowner in the Burlington, Lexington, or Cambridge area tackling a complex renovation or addition, Accura Construction has real, specific praise behind it — just confirm current licensing and get the scope and timeline in writing before signing on.

I have used Accura Construction for 17 years for both bath and kitchen remodeling, large porch rebuilding and fixing other structural problems in my very complex house in Lexington. Paul is incredibly skilled, reliable and does not cut corners. He makes sure the job gets done correctly. His subs are also top shelf. I would not have anyone else work on my house. He is also extremely fair in his pricing.
During the summer of 2024, Accura Construction completed a major renovation of our Cambridge property, which included demolition of the entire third floor attic, a new bathroom, dormers, a new heating system and finish work. Paul Allain is the owner, contractor, manager and coordinator and also a highly skilled and knowledgeable worker and tradesman. Of the 18 contractors we originally looked at, Accura was by far the best option - it was the only company who brought in experienced professional subcontractors for the estimate, who quoted with a thorough explanation of the work to be performed and came in with a reasonable competitive price! Paul was hands-on, working on site, side-by-side with his crew on the project. His presence on the jobsite contributed to both the quality and the efficiency of the job. Once work began, Paul and his talented crew showed attention to detail, professionalism and respect for both our property and our budget throughout the process. Paul’s experience and talent were key in working through and resolving unexpected issues that inevitably arose, at no additional cost to us. We are especially appreciative that Paul went above and beyond Cambridge's already strict insulation requirements to give us a tight, snug, energy efficient property. The difference in comfort and utility bill savings was impressive during the cold winter days. We do strongly recommend Accura Construction to anyone planning major structural renovation, new construction, or a project with complicated electrical, plumbing and HVAC work. We will definitely plan to hire Accura again when we’re ready for some new projects.
Accura Construction managed the reno of my historic 3 family, and the value of their extensive experience and expertise was incalculable as one unforeseen thing happened after another. This project would have been difficult/a nightmare in less capable hands. I could not recommend them more highly.
