Ask around Braintree about buying an appliance, and certain names keep coming up — Beth, Mary-Ellen, Dave L. — the sales staff at New England Appliance and More. The store has sold new and "scratch and dent" appliances from its Wood Road location for about 26 years, incorporated in Massachusetts since 2000, with financing, delivery, and warranty coverage built into what it sells. The rating base backing that reputation is wide: 4.3 stars across 206 Google ratings and 4.9 stars across 22 Angi reviews, plus an A+ grade from the Better Business Bureau (it isn't a BBB Accredited Business, a separate opt-in status). Recent reviews put faces to the numbers — Mary-Ellen walking a customer through side-by-side versus French-door refrigerators after a storm took out the old one, Beth tracking down a hard-to-find part for an appliance long past warranty, and Dave L. talking through the scratch-and-dent floor without pushing an upgrade. Installers John and Jim get singled out too, praised in May for working a new unit through a stubborn kitchen doorway. Not every recent account is clean. One buyer paid in full for a stove and dishwasher in April 2026 and says three weeks passed with no delivery, no callback, and no refund conversation — an account that lines up with a similar one on Apple Maps. Another, in June 2026, describes a refrigerator that arrived visibly tilted, with the store offering to refund the purchase minus the $158 delivery fee. A longtime customer's May 2026 review says recent purchases have broken down sooner after warranty than expected, and that a customer-service escalation went nowhere. A handful of older, sharper complaints exist elsewhere too, a reminder the track record isn't spotless — though they're outliers next to the current volume of praise. For a routine appliance purchase, especially off the scratch-and-dent floor, the buying experience holds up across hundreds of reviews spanning two decades. Before handing over payment in full, it's worth pinning down the delivery and damage policy up front, and asking how warranty service calls get handled afterward — the two soft spots recent customers actually raised.

We bought a refrigerator and paid the $158 delivery fee. We found the new refrigerator was visually tilted when it was delivered to my house. Therefore we decided to return the product and told the delivery guys that we cannot accept this. The delivery guys also admitted the product is tilted that we should get full refund including the delivery cost because it is not out fault. However, the sales person told us that they can only refund the total less the delivery fee. They claimed that GE model is made to tilted backward and we should accept the product as we see it.... which is unacceptable. How can we accept a severely tilted refrigerator.....

I've been doing business with this place for many years. In recent year, I've been having trouble with my purchases breaking soon after warranty. The lady that answered told me Samsung products were a problem, breaking down. My call into them got escalated to a higher up. A lady that was full of BS, evasive, loves changing the subject, you name it.<br>Don't buy anything from this place. They're nothing but trouble!!! Someone different is running it and the service has gone down hill. Unfortunately, it took me too many years to realize it!!!

The most skillful entry of an appliance in my kitchen in 30 years. John and Jim were masterful at working with difficult doors and doorways. And the two are lovely people! I am grateful.

All of the staff here are EXTREMELY kind and knowledgeable. The two men in the front especially deserve a raise. These are the kind of people you need representing such a great company.
