New England Design & Construction (NEDC) is a Lexington-based design-build firm led by CEO Dave Supple, with licensed architects on staff and a Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration that's verified active. The company says it's been operating in Greater Boston for over 20 years, working on kitchen, bathroom, whole-home and historic remodels plus additions across Lexington, Boston, Newton, Cambridge, Coolidge Corner and Wayland. The written record reads less like typical reviews and more like relationships — several reviewers describe multiple projects over the years, referrals to neighbors, and even a volunteer project collaboration. One story stands out: in a July 2025 review, a homeowner whose bathroom NEDC remodeled nine years earlier had a shower-door roller break, and rather than just point them to a part number, the company tracked down the vendor, sourced the replacement, and shipped it at no cost. Reviewers consistently point to the design-build process itself as the draw — architects and construction teams working from the same plan rather than handing a project off cold. In a December 2021 review, a homeowner described the process from a first walkthrough with Dave Supple himself through design options, budgeting, and material selection as going "exceedingly well." In an August 2023 review, a client who had worked with many home remodeling firms over the years called NEDC the best they'd dealt with, citing fair pricing and adequate staffing to keep projects moving. The company holds GuildQuality's Guild Master Award for outstanding customer service for 12 years running, and a 2021 industry report on the firm cited a 93% all-time client recommend rate. It's also a member of the Lexington Chamber of Commerce. Given the design-build model and the scope of the projects described here — gut renovations, additions, historic remodels — this looks like a fit for a larger project with a real budget and timeline, more than a single quick repair.

NEDC appealed to us because of the Design Build offering, and their excellent reputation for truly caring about their client’s needs, so much so they have a five year warranty on all their work. We selected them for our total renovation of a city condominium. NEDC’s communication fluidity between designers and the construction team made clear their understanding of each other’s language. They were clear about challenges from the start, and their combined knowledge about the space allows everyone to go into the project being smarter and more pragmatic. The communication with us, the client, and their adherence to a disciplined process was foundational to the success of the project. Once construction starts things happen in the field. There’s a reality that hits. The top designers in the world can’t predict field challenges, the ones that happen once you get into the space, ie, there’s a unique condition in a ceiling or wall, etc. So having an experienced and caring project manager, seamlessly working with the design team, one who respects the design process, enables the dialogue to continue throughout the project. My view is that a project is constantly in design phase, but it changes context once you are in the implementation/construction phase- that open dialogue between the project manager and design team is critical to the success of the construction, and the beauty of NEDC’s budgeting process is that communication time is built into their process, no extra charges for the time spent for their internal teams to talk to each other! The conversations between the design team and the construction team are critical to keeping things on track, that’s the other part of the NEDC process, their priority is it to be on budget and on time. No surprises. They accomplished that for us. I mean, that doesn’t just happen!
We just worked with NEDC on building a barn and we had a wonderful experience with them. Great attention to detail, responsive communication and a high quality of work. Looking forward to the next one with them.
NEDC completed remodeled our bathrooms about nine years ago, and they have held up great. But recently one of the rollers on the shower door broke. I contacted them just to see if they could identify the parts we neeeded and where to get them, but they went much further, finding the part and vendor in their records, working with the vendor to find a replacement, and had it sent to our house (at no cost). I was able to do the repair myself, but NEDC made it clear they would send someone to help if needed. It's a big relief to know that even after 10 years, as things age and wear out, we can go back to NEDC for help keeping things like new.
Working with New England Design and Construction has been an absolute pleasure! Whether we were collaborating on a Room to Dream volunteer project, referring them to our neighbors, or embarking on whole home redesigns together with our clients, their professionalism and dedication have always shone through. Their streamlined systems and processes make every project run smoothly, and each team member truly embodies the spirit of collaboration. The level of customer service is unparalleled, with a concierge-like approach that ensures every detail is attended to with the utmost care. We genuinely enjoy working with the NEDC team and appreciate their consistent excellence. They are, without a doubt, a top-notch design and construction firm that we are proud to partner with!
