A customer in December 2025 wanted crown molding on their kitchen cabinets, in a room where the ceiling was neither even nor level. Stefan worked out a way to run the molding level and stop the ceiling announcing itself. A homeowner in an 1870s Victorian said much the same in April 2023: old work repaired, new shelving installed, custom trim run through a home office, in a house where nothing is square. Another wrote in October 2023 that Stefan handled a project others had not been able to. Stefan Parchev runs SHP Fine Carpentry out of Lexington. He began as a finish carpenter on Nantucket before founding the company, by his own account, and describes the business as a custom woodworking studio doing finish carpentry, cabinetry and renovation work across greater Boston. Its Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration is active. Most of what customers describe is built rather than bought. A May 2026 client had a wardrobe designed to a layout worked out with them, then built to those specifications with crown molding tying into a cathedral ceiling. A December 2025 customer in Belmont got a foyer rebuilt around a custom storage bench and a radiator cover. In February 2025 another had a mudroom fitted with hanging space, shoe storage and cleaning-supply storage. In April 2023 a self-described picky client had a walk-in closet built out in a room about ten by thirteen feet. The repairs get the same care. A December 2023 customer had an interior staircase reinforced and mentioned the neat work and a reasonable price; a 2022 customer had rotten timber around a window replaced, the area checked and treated, and the site cleaned afterwards. One October 2023 reviewer noted that although cabinet construction is the main business, Stefan went out of his way to sort out problems with their existing cabinets. Two more things are worth knowing. A January 2026 reviewer who used to do cabinetry and finish woodworking themselves called Stefan meticulous and the price very reasonable, which is a particular kind of endorsement. And people come back: a January 2024 customer updated their review after a second round of custom cabinetry following a kitchen refresh. For built-in cabinetry, a closet or mudroom fit-out, trim and molding in an older house, or finish repairs that have to work with what is already there, this is a small shop with the owner on the job — Stefan is named in nearly every account, with Petyo alongside him in a 2023 one.
