Out of Sudbury it does waterproofing, foundation and crawl-space repair, sump-pump systems, drainage and hatchway work across Massachusetts, and its site says the company has been at it since 2007. The written accounts are a decade old — four Angi reviews from 2015 and 2016 — and they are specific. In a January 2016 review, a customer wrote that Don, the head of the company, came out himself to survey the situation, spent ample time explaining what he thought the issue was and how it could be remedied, and answered their questions. A March 2015 customer was walked through what needed to be done, the options, and the pricing for each option, and said the crew worked around their schedule. In October 2015, a customer described a system holding the basement at 50% relative humidity — they thought it could be lower, and it was re-adjusted to bring the finished area to 45-50%. That reviewer also credited the installation for taking their input on vent placement and for handling the condensate outflow. One thing to settle before signing. The Massachusetts registry shows the company's home improvement contractor registration, #171013, expired — ask where that stands now. The site separately lists MA #HIC.166721 and a Rhode Island licence, #43639. For a wet basement, a failing sump pump or a damp crawl space, this is a specialist rather than a general remodeler, and its Better Business Bureau page is an A+ with accredited status. Start with the registration question, then have them walk the basement and put the drainage plan and the pricing options in writing.

I was impressed with NE Dry Basements from the beginning. The head of the company (Don) came out himself to survey the situation and spent ample time with me explaining what he thought the issue was and how we could remedy it. He answered all my questions and promptly sent me a detailed quote with a competitive price. He did not try to oversell me and did not pressure me. After interviewing several other vendors I went with NE Dry Basements. They worked around my schedule, showing up on time with a very professional crew. Although the job was messy, they cleaned up, leaving no mess. We worked around a few tricky/complicated things but through it all, Don was adamant that he would honor his work and would come back as many times as necessary to ensure it was functioning properly (which it is). I would highly recommend this company.
The product is very good keeping the basement to 50% relative humidity. Could be lower. Actually re-adjusted to put finished area at 45-50%. The installation was done well with attention to my input on vent installation and handling condensate outflow. Area was left as clean as when they started. In making the decision about the service the owner, Don was very willing to visit a couple of times to discuss intent and options. He was also will willing to reach out to other professionals when I had questions he didn't know answer for. Someone less customer oriented might have allowed an installation based on what I said, but one that wasn't the most effective way to go about it. The only issue with the whole process was once I was ready it still took a couple of weeks to get a contract done. Given the final result I am very happy I stuck with it instead of getting discouraged.
