New England Dry Basements specializes in basement waterproofing and related foundation work, including wet-basement repair, sump-pump systems, crawl-space waterproofing, drainage, hatchway work, and foundation repairs. The company says it has been in business since 2007. Customers describe careful diagnosis, clear explanations, responsive service, and durable results. One homeowner reported no further basement water five years after the recommended solution, while others praised clean installations, fair pricing, and work completed around their schedules. A Massachusetts license registry lists HIC license 171013 as expired. BuildZoom likewise lists that license as inactive or expired and gives the profile a score of 0. Verify the current registration directly and get the proposed waterproofing system, warranty terms, and scope in writing before work begins. This is a strong fit for homeowners addressing wet basements, foundation cracks, crawl-space moisture, or drainage problems. Ask for a written diagnosis and confirm licensing before signing.
Yes, I recommend this pro
I was impressed with NE Dry Basements from the beginning. The head of the company (Don) came out himself to survey the situation and spent ample time with me explaining what he thought the issue was and how we could remedy it. He answered all my questions and promptly sent me a detailed quote with a competitive price. He did not try to oversell me and did not pressure me. After interviewing several other vendors I went with NE Dry Basements. They worked around my schedule, showing up on time with a very professional crew. Although the job was messy, they cleaned up, leaving no mess. We worked around a few tricky/complicated things but through it all, Don was adamant that he would honor his work and would come back as many times as necessary to ensure it was functioning properly (which it is). I would highly recommend this company.
The product is very good keeping the basement to 50% relative humidity. Could be lower. Actually re-adjusted to put finished area at 45-50%. The installation was done well with attention to my input on vent installation and handling condensate outflow. Area was left as clean as when they started. In making the decision about the service the owner, Don was very willing to visit a couple of times to discuss intent and options. He was also will willing to reach out to other professionals when I had questions he didn't know answer for. Someone less customer oriented might have allowed an installation based on what I said, but one that wasn't the most effective way to go about it. The only issue with the whole process was once I was ready it still took a couple of weeks to get a contract done. Given the final result I am very happy I stuck with it instead of getting discouraged.
New England Dry Basements was very knowledgeable, transparent, and easy to work with. They explained clearly what needed to be done, the options, and the pricing for the options. They worked around our schedule, and the work is high quality.
