New England Dry Basements LLC is a Sudbury, Massachusetts waterproofing contractor. Angi and HomeAdvisor both describe the same trade list: foundation drainage installation and replacement, basement and crawlspace waterproofing and encapsulation, and basement drainage channel installation, with free estimates and emergency service offered. The homeowner accounts on file are detailed but dated, all from 2015 and 2016. In a January 2016 review a homeowner wrote that the head of the company, Don, came out himself to survey the situation, spent time explaining what he thought the problem was, and sent a detailed quote at a competitive price without overselling or pressure; after interviewing several other vendors they chose this company, and described a professional crew that showed up on time and cleaned up after a messy job. Don, they said, was adamant he would return as many times as needed to make the system work. An October 2015 reviewer described the result in numbers: the installed system holds the basement at 45 to 50 percent relative humidity, the vent installation and condensate outflow were handled with attention to their input, and the area was left as clean as it was found. That same reviewer's one complaint was administrative — once they were ready to proceed, it still took a couple of weeks to get the contract done. A March 2015 reviewer called the company knowledgeable and transparent about options and pricing. Both Angi and HomeAdvisor publish a 5.0 average from the same six ratings, so those figures are one review set, not two. The thing to settle before hiring is the paperwork. BuildZoom records Massachusetts licence #171013 as expired since 1 February 2018 — re-checked as expired in April 2026 — notes the status was at one point cancelled, and assigns a score of zero for want of a verifiable active licence. Ask directly for the current registration number, its expiry date, and proof of insurance, and ask for recent references, since the written feedback is now roughly a decade old.

Yes, I recommend this pro
I was impressed with NE Dry Basements from the beginning. The head of the company (Don) came out himself to survey the situation and spent ample time with me explaining what he thought the issue was and how we could remedy it. He answered all my questions and promptly sent me a detailed quote with a competitive price. He did not try to oversell me and did not pressure me. After interviewing several other vendors I went with NE Dry Basements. They worked around my schedule, showing up on time with a very professional crew. Although the job was messy, they cleaned up, leaving no mess. We worked around a few tricky/complicated things but through it all, Don was adamant that he would honor his work and would come back as many times as necessary to ensure it was functioning properly (which it is). I would highly recommend this company.
The product is very good keeping the basement to 50% relative humidity. Could be lower. Actually re-adjusted to put finished area at 45-50%. The installation was done well with attention to my input on vent installation and handling condensate outflow. Area was left as clean as when they started. In making the decision about the service the owner, Don was very willing to visit a couple of times to discuss intent and options. He was also will willing to reach out to other professionals when I had questions he didn't know answer for. Someone less customer oriented might have allowed an installation based on what I said, but one that wasn't the most effective way to go about it. The only issue with the whole process was once I was ready it still took a couple of weeks to get a contract done. Given the final result I am very happy I stuck with it instead of getting discouraged.
New England Dry Basements was very knowledgeable, transparent, and easy to work with. They explained clearly what needed to be done, the options, and the pricing for the options. They worked around our schedule, and the work is high quality.
