New England Home and Glass is the Cape shop people call when a piece of glass has to fit exactly — a frameless shower enclosure, a storm door, a cracked picture window. Its Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration is active, under the name New England Home & Glass, Inc. The estimating side is where the praise concentrates, and it is specific. Customers describe a detailed quote with measurements and a sketch — one 2024 reviewer said they were the only company that broke it down that way, and a March 2025 customer got a virtual 3D concept, custom measurements, and glass ordered and installed within two weeks. Speed of first contact comes up repeatedly: a HomeAdvisor reviewer in October 2025 said Tyler called within moments of the project being posted. Named staff turn up again and again — Steve on installs, Michelle in the front office. The finish is less consistent, and the two most recent complaints are both about fit. In July 2026 a customer said the storm door was special-ordered in the right size but the wrong depth, with no adjustment made, leaving gaps between the door trim and the siding. In April 2026 a picture-window replacement got the job done at a reasonable price, but the reviewer noted the crew put nothing down to protect the space. A September 2025 review described a steam-shower enclosure that took several return visits to seal correctly, and a September 2023 one described four months of waiting for shower glass with no refund. Timing is the other recurring theme. A 2023 HomeAdvisor reviewer's only complaint was the wait, and an undated account elsewhere describes five weeks between the estimate appointment and the install after being told to expect service the following week. The platform numbers split accordingly. Google sits at 4.1 across 30 ratings; Angi and HomeAdvisor both show 4.7 from the same 223-review set. Of the six reviews in the last six months, two are negative. A sensible call for shower and storm door work, especially if you value a quote you can actually read. Get the lead time in writing, confirm door depth and trim clearances against your actual opening before the order goes in, and ask what they lay down to protect floors and finishes on install day.
“Extremely dissatisfied with this service. 5 weeks from my estimate appointment to actually get my glass installed. Wouldn’t necessarily be a big deal if I hadn’t been told to expect next week service. I have to agree with a reviewer below, had I not called them multiple times a week I never would have known what was happening with my repair.”
I had them come out and measure to replace a storm door. They special ordered size but didnt get rhe right depth door and didnt make necessary adjustment for new door. so now thier are gaps between door trim and siding of the house Every door installer knows you have yo account if u need to build out or whatever adjustments have to be made. I called them and they dont want to stand by thier work. They said the owner did the measure. Thats even worse. Not even the owner knows what hes doing or doesent care.
Great pricing, communication and work .
