NJD Painting is a Norwood, Massachusetts-based residential and commercial painting company, in business about seven years, offering interior and exterior painting, deck staining, and light carpentry across the Greater Boston area, including Norwood, Dedham, Westwood, Canton, and more than a dozen nearby towns. The company holds an active Massachusetts Home Improvement Contractor license and carries a Better Business Bureau A+ grade. Reviewers on Angi and HomeAdvisor from 2018 through 2021 are largely enthusiastic about the painting work: a 2021 review of a porch repair and re-staining job praised a crew that kept every appointment, gave honest advice without upselling, and matched paint precisely, and a 2018 review described the crew sanding a lifting seam and adding silicone beading beyond the original scope on a ceiling job. Homeowners also describe the company handling fences, storm doors, decks, and window shutters alongside its core painting work. One 2019 review described a different experience on a different job — paint applied over unrepaired spots and windows left painted shut — a contrast to the careful prep described elsewhere in the record, so it's worth asking how prep and masking will be handled and getting a written scope. The written reviews on file are also dated, with the newest from August 2021, though Angi and HomeAdvisor currently show the account at a stronger 4.9-star average from 34 ratings. The company's own website names Kirk as owner in a client testimonial, while the reviews on file consistently describe a hands-on contact named Antroy overseeing jobs and communicating with customers — worth clarifying who you'd actually be working with. NJD Painting looks like a solid option for exterior and interior painting in the Norwood/Dedham/Boston corridor, particularly larger repaint or staining jobs; confirm current pricing and ask for recent references given the gap since the newest written review.
These guys are awesome they also did my garage, front deck, back deck, new fence in wall in front of house. Replace front storm door, front roof over door, all the house window shutters. I would definitely recommend them 120%
Our porch needed repair and re-staining. Previously-repaired portions of the house needed to be painted, some of the hardyboard needed to be replaced, and some window molding needed replacement. Antroy spent an hour with us looking at our project and advising us. He did not try to upsell, which we appreciated. He was a good listener to our concerns. He kept every appointment. His carpenter and painters started on Monday and came every day until the project was completed the following Wednesday. They matched the paint perfectly and took care in their work. We are very pleased with the outcome and I would be happy to hire them again.
They did power washing and staining, all done fast and well. I already recommended them to two other neighbors
They did excellent work. On time every day Antroy is very responsive. His team was very professional.
If you are looking for straight lines and a second coat, keep looking. This is a good job if you are doing a rental unit and need something that is not a high end job. Owner is a smooth talker who does not deliver. There was no prep, they actually tried to Spackle after one coat and then brush over it, which of course looks horrible. My windows were painted shut, except for the one that was painted stuck open at the top (excellent in late June) which was amazing as they did not even paint the entire frame. I bought the highest quality paint, so I could have a great looking job, these guys thought that was license to do one coat, yes I can tell its one coat as I can see the old color in places where they did not quite cover the wall. I had just done an electrical upgrade and had new lighting installed, they were supposed to do the patch where needed around the lights, they did not even touch them. We met several times, first time, after the owner fired the only guy with any experience (who was stoned out of his mind while he was here but hey at least he could paint) and leaving 2 inexperienced workers alone on the job (this he told me), I was hopeful that the owner was now on the job and things would be rectified, but that never happened even after reviewing a punch list 2x with him, he still failed to correct things we reviewed, and he agreed to finish. Told me he has too much time into the job, (well that is what happens when you hire people who do not have a clue how to do the job and you leave them unsupervised.) He just left and declared himself done, it became obvious this is a routine that he employs to try to wear you down and at times intimidate you, yes he turns from **I am easy to talk to** (one of the reasons I hired him and this may be true at first but that does not mean he listens or completes the job or behaves in a professional manner) to making it your fault that he cannot get the job done. Aside for the mess (which you need to suck up for renovation) the job was subpar. They certainly never used tape to make a straight line, nor could they free hand it. they did not do a second coat in many places due to the quality of paint its **OK** but not what I discussed with the owner prior to the job. He now wants to give me $300 off (I paid for the paint, so he owes me more than that off the invoice anyhow) and told me to hire someone else to finish the outstanding items. Sure for $300 dollars I should be able to hire someone to come in and finish; do a second coat in 1500 square foot condo and all the patch work that was not done plus finish and fix all the sloppy trim work. There is more to list but I think you get the gist. Its unfortunate that you cant post pictures here. STAY AWAY, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!
