Northern Tile Works

A February 2026 customer thought a failed shower meant losing the whole thing. Alex found a fix that avoided demolishing and re-tiling the entire shower, and kept them updated daily while he did it. That kind of rescue turns up more than once here: in a 2021 review a homeowner described a walk-in shower a previous contractor had pitched wrong, so water pooled at the side instead of running to the drain, and a September 2022 customer brought Alex in to repair a bathroom job that had gone wrong. Northern Tile Works is a tile contractor at 84 Pond St in Stoneham working into Boston, and says it keeps tile setters and stone masons on staff for ceramic tile, kitchen backsplashes, mosaic and terrazzo. On Google it carries 5 stars from 50 ratings. The jobs described range from one backsplash to a whole bathroom. A November 2025 homeowner had a full renovation with floor-to-ceiling tile, a shower area and a heated tile floor, and said the quote was reasonable and the team showed up every day until the work was finished. In October 2025, stubborn terracotta came out of a 200-square-foot kitchen and new tile went down within four business days. A February 2025 customer tiling a basement laundry room noticed something most people never mention: so little tile was cut to waste that two full boxes went back to the store. Trade customers hire them too. A designer and developer wrote in January 2025 about collaborating on a large Newton project with two complex bathrooms, and in March 2026 a contractor described working with Alex's team to match the detail their own clients expect. Responsiveness is the other thing people keep naming — fast replies by text in a February 2025 review, daily updates during the February 2026 shower repair, and a November 2023 customer whose minor installation problem, caused by the product itself, was corrected immediately. The thing to pin down is scope. A February 2026 job covered two bathrooms re-tiled with new toilets and vanities plus a third bathroom reglazed, while other jobs here are tile and nothing else, so settle at quoting time which pieces are theirs and which you are arranging yourself. For a leaking shower, a bathroom floor that has to come up, or a backsplash you want cut clean around outlets and edges, this is a tile specialist with years of repair work behind it. Get the quote in writing, and agree up front who handles the fixtures.
