Verified record
Oliveira Rick Plumbing Heating works out of a Tobey Street address in New Bedford and has been operating for roughly 32 years, according to its BBB listing. The name carries some history: a 2025 Google review notes the business changed hands years ago, and describes the current owner, Bob, as straightforward, well versed in the trade, and reasonably priced — the reviewer recalls hiring him for work tied to a foreclosed property. Public reviews are thin here. The listing shows a 5-star average from just three Google ratings and only one detailed review on file, so there isn't much of a written track record to lean on yet. One thing worth confirming before booking: BuildZoom's directory lists the company's Massachusetts plumbing license as inactive, with an expiration date going back to 1994, so it's worth asking directly about current licensing and insurance. For someone who's found Bob through a referral, the one review on record points to a no-frills, experienced plumber — just verify credentials given how little public history there is to go on.

The name of the company is Rick Olivera Plumbing but the owner's name is actually Bob who bought this business many years ago as a going concern. I found Bob to be a very straight forward guy that really knows the trade and his prices are down to earth. I purchased a foreclosed property as a rental and every piece of plumbing had to be replaced including the gas pipe line etc. He also installed an on demand hot water heater that works great and is a real space saver. Bob has a fantastic work ethic and very happy I hired him to do this job whom I would highly recommend. Please see pics below.
