On The Level Carpentry & Contracting is a Dedham general remodeling and finish-carpentry outfit — its own listings put it at 32 years in the trade, working everything from framing and trim to tile, kitchens, baths and additions. The written record is thin but consistent: three Angi and HomeAdvisor reviews, all five stars, spanning 2010 to 2015. What comes through across them is a habit of going past the original scope — in a 2015 review, a homeowner said the contractor flagged and fixed things he wasn't even asked to look at. A 2010 review described him coming back on a Saturday to regrout tile so a glass shower enclosure could go in on schedule the following Monday, calling the work exceptional and the pricing straightforward with no hidden costs. The one real snag on file is a 2011 job: a mismatch between the shower-glass estimator and the installer meant window trim had to be pulled out and the exposed area retiled before the job was finished. The contractor fit the fix into his schedule and completed it along with other carpentry repairs, and the reviewer still rated the outcome five stars. Nothing more recent than 2015 shows up publicly, so anyone calling should confirm current pricing, lead times, and staffing before booking — especially for a job that hands off between multiple trades the way the 2011 one did.

He was very thorough. He made suggestions on stuff that he didnt even have to.
Due to a misunderstanding between the shower glass surround estimator and installer, exisiting window trim had to be removed. The exposed area then had to be tiled. I was left with unfinished window trim and exposed wall area. Paul fit us in to his busy schedule and fixed the problem as well other carpentry repairs/replacements.
His work is exceptional and I highly recommend him. Paul even came back on a Saturday to regrout the tile so I could have the glass enclosure installed on a Monday the next week. He is very honest, straight forward, no hidden agendas or cost, and will be hiring him for the Fall to replace two ceilings. Just an exceptional craftsmen! He is fully up to date on changes in his trade as well as being accredited. He took time to make sure everything was protected before starting the work.
