In September 2023 a large tree came down on a house, through the roof, the attic and parts of two bedrooms. The owner interviewed four contractors from the insurer's list and picked Palacio General Construction. That is the shape of most of this company's work: the structural jobs. Additions with the design, the permits and the build all handled; a dormer turned into a full bathroom on a cape; a garage rebuilt and the patio regraded so water stopped running into it; a nearly hundred-year-old house given a new wing. Walter Palacio started the company in Dracut in 2015, still does the estimates himself, and its Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration, number 184611, is active. The permit file matches what customers describe: 71 permitted projects on record, about twenty of them in the last three years, typically around $12,000 of work apiece, with the additions well above that. One customer in April 2024 listed his: a mudroom, a bathroom and a bigger two-car garage downstairs, with a laundry room, master bathroom and office added above. Two things come up again and again. The price holds — a 2023 customer said he knew every cost up front, and said so specifically because other contractors had moved their numbers after the bid. And the schedule holds: a kitchen remodel in November 2025 finished a little early, and crews arrive when they said they would. Palacio also takes the jobs other people walked away from. In 2021 a homeowner whose deck was leaking into his garage, after two contractors had failed to stop it, said the repair pulled in roofing, decking, electrical, painting and masonry and finally solved it. In 2016 another had an abandoned kitchen renovation taken over, including fixing the shoddy work already done. In 2024 someone who could not find a contractor or a chimney company to replace a chimney cap said Palacio sourced the part and fitted it inside two weeks. The one recent complaint is about getting in the door: in July 2026 a homeowner said a date was set for a quote and nobody showed up or called. Worth knowing too that fourteen of the accounts on file are HomeAdvisor reviews from 2016 through 2020, when the company was younger. For an addition, a dormer, a full bathroom or a kitchen you want run end to end, this is a straightforward call — confirm the estimate appointment the day before, and ask for the itemised, step-by-step quote that customers in 2024 and 2017 said they were given.
We had Palacio Construction complete a full master bathroom remodel. Walter was great to work with throughout the entire project—he was responsive, professional, and easy to communicate with. Anytime an issue came up, he addressed it quickly and made sure it was resolved. We would definitely recommend Palacio Construction to anyone looking for a reliable remodeling contractor.
Didn't even make it in the door! I asked for a quote; they reached out with a date for the quote and never showed up; never called. All set!
We had Walter and his crew make a laundry room off the kitchen for us. And I love it absolutely beautiful. His guys are very good at what they do and the clean up is amazing. Everything went so smooth. Very good experience I most certainly would recommend them. And if I need any more work done they will be called upon. Thank all of you for your professionalism. Amazing crew.
We had an addition added to our home that is almost 100 years old. Palacio GC was wonderful to work with through the whole process, design, permits and construction. Their team made the process easy, understood our goals and they were transparent through the entire build. The results are beautiful and high quality even for a small moderate addition. People walking by keep saying it’s looks like it has been part of the house the entire time. Great people to work with and beautiful results!
Walter and his crew did a great job with our kitchen remodel. Walter was knowledgeable and responsive. People came when scheduled and were all courteous and professional. In fact the project finished a bit early. We are very pleased with the results.
