Palacio General Construction

Two contractors had already failed to stop water leaking off the deck into the garage when a 2021 reviewer called Palacio General Construction; the fix turned into roofing, decking, electrical, painting and masonry, and it held. A 2016 reviewer handed them a kitchen renovation another builder had abandoned, shoddy work and all. A 2024 reviewer who couldn't find a contractor or a chimney company willing to replace a chimney cap had it done inside two weeks. Walter Palacio founded the Dracut company in 2015 and, its site says, runs it as a family business and does the estimates himself. The service map runs through the Merrimack Valley — Dracut, Lowell, Andover, Chelmsford, Tewksbury, Methuen — and into southern New Hampshire. Much of the work customers describe is substantial. In a December 2025 review, a homeowner put an addition on a house almost 100 years old and credited the team with carrying design, permits and construction. An April 2024 review lays out a major addition — mud room, bathroom and a larger two-car garage below, laundry room, master bathroom and an office above. Another April 2024 reviewer renovated a garage and reworked the patio to keep water out of it. Smaller jobs land too: a laundry room off the kitchen in an April 2026 review, and a master bathroom remodel in July 2026 where the customer said problems were dealt with as they came up. Several reviews turn on timing. A November 2025 kitchen remodel finished a bit early, with people arriving when scheduled; a 2017 reviewer's front door, tile floor and stair replacement came in on time as expected; a 2023 reviewer appreciated knowing all the costs up front. The exception is getting them in the door. In a July 2026 one-star review, a homeowner said Palacio set a date to come out and quote, then never showed and never called. BuildZoom counts 71 permitted projects for the company, about 20 of them in the last three years. Its Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration is active on the state registry. Separately, the company's own site and its BuildZoom page each print a Construction Supervisor number, CS-109837, which you can look up yourself on the state register. A sound call for an addition, a kitchen or a bathroom you want one contractor running end to end — and for the project somebody else has already walked away from. Confirm the estimate appointment the day before it happens, check that supervisor licence on the state register, and settle who pulls the permits before you sign.
