Paul's Appliance Service, based in Hanson, MA, says it has been in business 62 years, and its BBB page carries an A+ grade. A recent customer said one phone call to Rick got Cory sent out in a few days, with the problem fixed within a week. Rick is the owner, according to a 2025 customer who said he called to ask if it was OK to arrive early for an install. A 2024 customer said Bosch customer service recommended the company after a new Bosch dishwasher was delivered dented on one side, and that the company got the replacement part quickly and was available for servicing the very next day. Corey took the time after finishing that job to teach the 2024 customer a few things about the new dishwasher. A 2023 customer said Rick repaired a Thermidor range/oven more than 20 years old, then made a return call to fix the oven door hinge and did not charge for the visit. A 2023 customer said Tim came the same day for a leaking dishwasher and resolved the issue in less than an hour, for less than $150. A 2023 customer said a tech repaired a fridge that would not stop dispensing water within 15 minutes. A 2026 customer who called about a dishwasher that was not draining was quoted $150 for the first diagnostic visit, plus a minimum of $150 for time and labor, plus parts, and wrote that this was at least $100 more than a recent visit from a different company.
I’m extremely grateful and thankful for Cory and Rick from Paul’s Appliance. I made one phone call to Rick and he sent Cory out in a few days and had my problem fixed within a week. I let the problem go on for at least six months, which that’s on me my bad and I so wish I would’ve called Paul’s Appliance way sooner. They were so responsive and quick I would highly highly recommend them to anyone. I will be calling them in the near future if any one of my appliances is not acting as it should.
Rick and Cory were both great, I'm very happy with results and reasonable cost.
I only got as far as over the phone explanation of repair minimum for dishwasher (not draining): $150 for 1st visit, diagnostics. Minimum of $150 on top of that for time and labor. Plus parts. I bet they are expert at diagnosis and repair. The expense is at least $100+ more than we've paid in the last year...usual 2025 rate from last repair visit, different outfit, was 1st diagnostic visit was $100...maybe $125....but that was applied to time and labor for any needed repairs.
Clear communication, easy office methods, fair price, quick repair. I would use them again.
Rick, the owner, was awesome. He called and asked if it was OK to arrive early...worked great for me! Friendly, knowledgeable, down to earth, and clearly an expert in his field. As more and more companies merge and get bought up by larger ones, I always prefer working with independently-owned, family-run businesses with owners and employees who love what they do. I appreciated the banter we had throughout my flawless install today, and I will continue to hire Paul's Appliance Service, particularly Rick Howland, for all my appliance needs.
