Pearson Plumbing & Heating works out of 36 Tavern Path in Plymouth and covers the South Shore and Cape Cod. The company describes itself as a family business owned and operated by Gene and Lori Pearson, and Gene Pearson is named as owner on its own site, on its BBB profile and on his LinkedIn. The licence checks out at the source: Massachusetts plumbing licence 26357-PL-J is held by Eugene Pearson of Plymouth and was active on the state register when checked on 12 August 2026. BuildZoom's permit records show 331 permitted jobs, 26 of them in the last three years — mostly small work, typically around $2,000: water-heater replacements, gas lines for stoves, dryers, fireplaces and generators, copper repiping, basement sinks and fixture swaps, spread across Plymouth, Buzzards Bay, Sagamore Beach, Marshfield, Scituate, Hanover, Milton, Taunton and Wareham. The BBB grade is A+, though the business is not BBB accredited. When Gene turns up, homeowners are consistently pleased. A 2025 reviewer said his estimate was the best of several, the work was quick, the area left spotless and the communication excellent. A 2022 reviewer with a failed water heater said he came the same day and diagnosed it fast, and had used him earlier for a bathroom where the work was "impeccable". A 2024 reviewer was on their third job of the summer and praised the skills, price and manner each time. The complaints are all about the same thing, and they span three years. A one-star review from November 2022 describes repeated promises to handle a problem followed by no-shows, a part left sitting at the supply house for three weeks until the customer chased it, and an easily fixable fault that turned into a leak, damage to the water heater and no heat. A one-star review from December 2025 comes from a long-standing customer who had been "more than satisfied" for years: a booked appointment with a confirmed window went unattended, and two calls to the office produced no call back. That is a scheduling and follow-through problem, not a workmanship one, but it recurs. So: a licensed, long-established one-plumber operation with a deep small-job permit history and strong reviews of the work itself. If you hire them, pin down the appointment in writing, ask who to call if the window passes, and confirm parts have actually arrived before the visit is booked.

I have had Gene do many things in my house and have been more than satisfied. I called the office and made another appointment for more work .they gave me a day and time. When the day came I received a email saying he would be coming between 9 and 11 unfortunately no one showed up. Called the office I was told they would call and notify Gene no return call. Tried the office the next day, was told they would again call Gene again no response .I have recommended Gene to my friends iam hoping I wasn't mistaken by doing so!
Gene’s estimate was not only fair, but the best I received. He was friendly, nice to talk to, prompt, and extremely professional. The work was completed quickly, he left the work area spotless, and he was an excellent communicator throughout the entire process. I’m glad to have found such a great plumber and recommend him to everyone.
Gene came to my house same day and fixed the issue right away. Extremely professional and responsive. I will definitely recommend him to anyone and will be using him for any future issues.
Today wàs the third job they have done for us this summer. In each case we were very pleased with their skills, performance and price. They were prompt and professional and very pleasant to have around. Recommend them highly.
Very quick service. Reasonable rate for an issue that needed immediate attention. I highly recommend Pearson Plumbing & Heating!
