Z Plumberz (also doing business as ZPlumberz of Greater Boston) is a Carver-based plumbing company with an extensive written record - 319 reviews since 2021, a 4.9-star Google rating from 392 ratings, and an A- rating with the Better Business Bureau. The story that record tells is split between the people who show up and the company that dispatches them. On the technical side, the praise is thick and specific. Individual technicians - Zach, Aidan, Justin, Stavros, and others - are named and praised repeatedly across years of reviews for diagnosing problems quickly, explaining what's wrong in plain terms, and doing careful work: a water heater replacement described as flawless, an emergency weekend drain repair that stopped active damage to a unit below, a boiler fix where the technician kept troubleshooting through a difficult hiccup rather than giving up. Several reviewers describe using the company repeatedly over years, including for rental properties and an older home with recurring plumbing needs. The recurring friction is on the business side - scheduling and price. Several reviews describe missed or significantly delayed arrival windows and trouble getting straight answers from the company's call center: one reviewer said a promised late-morning appointment turned into a no-show with no real update, and another said an installation was held up for weeks by an internal issue the company never communicated. On price, the record is genuinely mixed. Some reviewers describe notably fair pricing - one got a quote for about a third of a competing plumber's estimate - but others describe the opposite: an $800 charge for roughly 10 minutes of capping two pipes, a stated flat minimum charge of about $395 regardless of the job, and one customer who said the price for an identical repair more than doubled, from $175 to $375, over two years. A 2024 review also described the company installing the wrong radiator on a job and not resolving it afterward. Taken together, this looks like a company where the field technicians are the strength and the office side - scheduling, communication, and price consistency - is the thing worth pinning down before booking. Getting a firm quote in writing and confirming the arrival window in advance would address most of what shows up in the negative reviews here.
I made an apointment for 9am for a plumber to come out. At 930 am I called to see where the guy was. They said he should be there and they would call him to have him touch base with me. He showed up at 10am. If you can't show up on a time that is scheduled and I have to call to see where your guy is then id rather not do business with you if you cant show up on time for the first time.
Update: 12/17/2025 was finally able to get them back to finish the install. Apparently there were a couple of internal issues that prevented them from finishing in a timely manner and never communicated this to any of their customers. I'll give them some leeway, but the communication needs improved. 5* plumbers with 0* customer service. I schedule a water heater and water filter install 2 weeks ago. After the water heater install, we had issues with no hot water -- all of the calls for 2 days were picked up by their "national call center" (ie., glorified answering machine). Eventually, I had to email their billing person to get the plumber to eventually call back. Luckily I'm handy enough that we were able to troubleshoot over the phone, otherwise we'd likely would have had to wait days to get it fixed. I'm still waiting on the water filter install; again, 0 communication from ZPLUMPERZ. I've had it "scheduled in their books" now twice (once after the in-person install and once after the troubleshooting call), and both times no one has shown or even bothered to call. Hopefully this review will get someone in the Boston office to take notice and actually respond.
Great experience 👍
I called November 28th 2025 at 9am. They said a plumber would be there between 11:00 and 11:30am. I am still waiting for a plumber to arrive. There call center staff are dishonest. I called multiple times and they kept saying a plumber would be there soon. Do not trust this company. Keep searching until you find a plumber who answers their own calls. The call centers just want to harvest data and resale it.
I couldn’t be more grateful for the incredible job Zack Michelle with ZPlumberz did fixing my Navien on-demand hot water system! From start to finish, Zack was not only professional, but also genuinely enthusiastic and passionate about his craft. The repair went exactly as he predicted — he identified and replaced the faulty part right in front of me, and like magic, I had hot water again! What stood out most was Zack’s willingness to explain everything in detail. He walked me through how the system works and even offered insightful tips about filtering water going into the unit and helping maintain cleaner tap water. He patiently answered all of my (many!) technical questions with knowledge and kindness. Zack is truly a rare find — a curious, considerate, and deeply knowledgeable heating and plumbing expert who takes real pride in his work. I would not hesitate to call on him again in the future and highly recommend him to anyone needing top-tier plumbing support. He’s a total pro and a joy to work with!
