Pete's Heat works on gas heat and gas pool heaters, and on Google it holds 4.8 stars from 73 ratings. One recent customer described Pete as "your guy in RI for all gas pool heaters and gas grills issues." He first installed a gas outlet for that customer's grill, then repaired their pool heater and later installed a new one. The same customer said his wife runs the administrative side of the business. A recent customer said Pete came out after no one could troubleshoot or fix their pool heater, and he did both, arriving on time. A 2026 customer said Pete came out early on Christmas Eve morning to a house with no heat at all. That 2026 customer said he drove from Foster with an uncommon igniter left over from a cancelled job, and they had heat again by 9:30 AM. A 2026 customer said the office fit them into the schedule for a no-heat issue. In 2025, a customer found Pete through a local town Facebook group while looking for someone to install a propane gas line and a pool heater for an above-ground pool, and said he made the process smooth. A recent customer with a pool heater issue paid $225 for the visit and diagnostic, then said the follow-up information and estimate promised by certain days did not come, and they had to chase each update. When they raised the delays, they were told the business would not be able to meet their expectations.
These are the kindest, hard working people I know! I would recommend their services to anyone in need of HVAC. Extremely knowledgeable! Pete is the man!
Pete is the best. Extremely prompt with service and does fantastic work. Would highly recommend for any pool heater service or repairs.
I’m extremely disappointed with my experience with Pete’s Heat. I reached out for help with a pool heater issue and from the beginning there was a lot of delay, poor communication, and constant runaround. Pete came out and I paid $225 immediately for the visit/diagnostic, so this was not a free courtesy. After that, I was repeatedly told I would receive follow-up information and an estimate by certain days, only for those deadlines to come and go without any communication. Each time, I had to be the one to follow up. What was most frustrating was the way the situation was handled when I finally expressed that the delays and lack of communication were becoming a problem. Instead of simply acknowledging the missed follow-through, I was made to feel as though I was being “difficult” for expecting updates when they were promised. I was also told that the money I had already spent on the overall heater situation “had nothing to do with them,” which completely missed the point. My concern was never about holding them responsible for the original installation — it was about the fact that I paid them to diagnose the issue, was then given specific timelines for follow-up, and still had to keep chasing updates myself. I understand that contractors get busy and that unexpected things come up. My issue is not with needing time to prepare an estimate or wanting the job done legally and up to code. My issue is with being given specific timelines, not receiving what was promised, and then being dismissed when I politely raised concerns about it. In the end, after I expressed my frustration about the lack of communication, I was told they would not be able to meet my expectations and wished me luck. That was their response instead of simply handling the situation professionally from the start. If communication, reliability, and professionalism matter to you, I would strongly recommend proceeding with caution.
Pete is your guy in RI for all gas pool heaters and gas grills issues (and obviously for gas heat issues too, but we don't have gas heat). I'm so glad I found him. He first installed a gas outlet for our gas grill (I bought one and didn't realize I needed a special gas outlet for it - oops!) Pete since repaired our pool heater and installed a new one when we needed one. He also didn't make me feel like a fool when I couldn't figure out a basic thing with our gas grill - he came out and showed me how to do it with no issue. Highly recommend him. He and his wife (who runs the administrative side of the business) are a great team. An honest, hard working, and knowledgeable person - you can't go wrong.
Pete came to my house after no one could troubleshoot and or fix my pool heater pete did both he came on time very friendly, very knowledgeable and with a great price @ great attitude I would definitely give Pete a call if you want your pluming issues fixed correctly first time A+
