Pioneer Handyco LLC is a handyman business run by Mike. On Thumbtack, Mike describes it as an insured handyman service based in Leyden, MA and serving all of Franklin County, helping with drywall repairs, painting, fixture installs, mounting and caulking. In a 2026 review, an interior designer hired Mike for projects at a home in Bernardston MA, where he did tiling, installed custom built-ins, painted and installed drapery. In an earlier 2026 review, Mike assessed a dozen repairs the evening they were requested, installed new heat/vent/lights in three bathrooms with additional ventilation ductwork, replaced seals on three sliding glass doors and adjusted all five. In 2025, he installed a bidet, a new shower head with sprayer and a bathroom fan, converted a living room ceiling fan to a plug in the wall fan, and replaced a broken pane of glass in a bedroom window, at a cost below what was expected. Another 2025 job was a basement office renovation in which Mike painted the walls, replaced the flooring, built a wooden windowsill and put together bookshelves and furniture. He finished off a 3 season porch in 2025 that another contractor had left undone, painting the porch and fixing the windows and doors, and in another 2025 job he figured out and fixed a leak behind a basement wall after two plumbers had not found it. A 2026 review from a countertop job says the cuts he made chipped the countertop surfaces, and that the glued on edges would also have to be replaced.

I am an interior designer and I hired Mike for a bunch of projects at a home I was working on in Bernardston MA. Mike always responded super quickly, showed up on time, and did excellent work. He was very professional and up for any task I threw at him. He did tiling, installed custom built-ins, painted, drapery installation and more. I highly recommend Mike!
He was fast, reliable, and did a great job! Will definitely call him again!
Mike is a great guy to work with. We contacted him with an issue and he came to our house the next day to take a look. He is friendly and responsive, his prices are very reasonable and the quality of his work is excellent. We would hire him again. Highly recommended.
I sent out a request for help with a dozen various repairs on a Wednesday afternoon and Mike responded he could stop by that night at 7:30pm to assess our requirements. He measured our sliding doors for new seals, measured our railings for new dowels and checked all dozen projects out to see if he could do them. He then told me he could do them all in a couple of days. He just finished our original dozen repairs along with a few extra ones we subsequently added to our list. All of his work was exceptional, Mike was especially neat and very resourceful. When installing new heat/vent/lights in three of our bathrooms on the first day, he realized he would need some additional ventilation ductwork. On his second day, he arrived with all the necessary parts and completed the installations along with several other repairs. Mike impressed me most by finding other things to fix related to our initial requests - like adjusting all five of our sliding glass doors in addition to replacing the seals on three of them. He suggested returning at a later (warmer) date to refinish our front wooden door and regrout our master bath shower. His skill sets are very broad, which along with detailed craftsmanship, make us sure to turn to Mike for future work on our post and beam mountaintop home. Mike is also very reasonable, especially given the quality of his work. We hope to use him forever for all repairs (electrical, woodwork, plumbing, tiling) in the future.
I’m not sure if he can fix the edges of the countertops. On all the cuts he made he chipped the countertop surfaces. He would also have to replace the glued on edges 4 total if he could successfully recut the countertops without damaging them?
