Powell Painting and Home Services works out of East Walpole, doing residential and commercial painting across the Greater Boston and MetroWest suburbs — Walpole, Norwood, Needham, Sherborn, and the surrounding towns, by its own account. The company describes itself as family- and veteran-owned, run by owner Bryan Powell, and structured around painting, carpentry, and cabinet refinishing rather than painting alone. The pattern across its history holds up under scrutiny: 129 reviews spread across six sites since 2021, and the score barely moves between them — five stars on Google from 216 ratings, 5.0 on Houzz from 44, 4.9 on Angi from 66, and an A+ from the Better Business Bureau, accredited since 2021. The jobs that keep recurring in the write-ups pair carpentry — rotted trim, water damage, prep work — with the paint itself, rather than painting sold on its own. In its most recent job on record, from May, a homeowner had their exterior repaired and repainted, with the carpentry singled out as expert work and a project manager checking in twice daily throughout. The one specific complaint on file, from Angi, describes a paint job the customer felt was done poorly; the company responded directly and offered to send a crew back to fix it. It's a single flagged job against 129 reviews, but worth asking about if your project is paint-quality-sensitive. Its Massachusetts home-improvement contractor license (197307) is verified active, and it carries RRP lead-safe certification, relevant if your house predates 1978. For an older home that needs real carpentry sorted out before it gets repainted, this is a well-corroborated call — confirm who's on your crew and how touch-ups get handled before signing.

We just had Powell repair and paint the exterior of our home, and are delighted with both the customer service and the results. The carpentry is expert and exactly what we were looking for, and the painting is excellent quality. Andre (project manager) checked in with me twice a day to ensure the project was on track, met all of our expectations, and answered any questions. Mauricio did really beautiful work, and the whole project was completed well within the timelines. We would highly recommend Powell.

We had an outstanding experience with Bryan and his team. From the very start, they took our project seriously, going above and beyond to address a trouble area where we had some water damage. Instead of just painting over it, they took the extra steps to get to the root of the issue and ensure everything was properly repaired before painting. The team was incredibly accommodating and professional. They amended the contract to close up our gable vents and add soffit vents, and they even allowed us to use paint from two different providers so we could get the exact custom color we wanted for our door. Bryan was a true partner in the process, providing valuable insight into popular color trends and helping us select the best colors that would complement our windows, which we couldn't paint. Their expertise and attention to detail made a huge difference in the final result. We are 100% happy with their work and would use them again in a heartbeat. We've already recommended them to several friends and family members. If you're looking for a painting company that is professional, meticulous, and genuinely cares about the quality of their work, look no further.

Powell Painting did a great job on my antique home (circa 1907). The home had several carpentry needs (rotted wood, etc.) from years of neglect which Powell's team tackled with ease - and they were able to match the antique trim moulding. The home looks fantastic now. The guys (Serpa was awesome to work with!) were on-time every day, did a fantastic job cleaning up each day (which my neighbors commented / complimented them on!), were always professional, and were extremely skilled. A++ Service from Powell, I would highly recommend them.

Powell Painting did an excellent job on my 105-year old house. They undertook some much-needed carpentry work that blended seamlessly with the architecture, and executed very detail-oriented paintwork to highlight my house's unique character. They worked incredibly fast and were so thorough. I cannot recommend Powell Painting (and team) enough!!
