Pratico's Landscaping & Fence sells plants, trees and supplies from its own nursery, and its website invites customers to come explore it and gather ideas with the staff. The company says it has been in business 76 years. A 2025 Google reviewer recalled doing business with the Pratico's name in Rutland County as a child more than six decades ago. On the planting side, a customer in Chittenden said Connie and Skip helped choose spruce trees for the front yard and dappled willow bushes for the back, and that an arborist named Justin was there on the day of the install. A customer who planned an extensive tree border with Connie and Skip said they provided a clear proposal with a list of trees and pricing, and charged exactly what was quoted. In a 2025 review, a reviewer with a lake house on Lake Bomoseen described walking the nursery with Connie, the owner, at a design consultation; over the next two days a crew put fabric down, spread topsoil, planted at least 20 varieties and mulched it all in. Fences are the other half of the name. A 2025 customer said Pratico's did their first fence about 25 years earlier, that the upgrade used scalloped white vinyl picket, 6-foot vinyl privacy and some 6-foot wood stockade, and that an overpayment came back as a refund in two days. A 2026 customer said one of several fences Pratico's installed had an issue a couple of months later, and it was fixed promptly at no further expense. In a 2022 review, a customer said Pratico's repaired vinyl fencing a tree had smashed and made sure to have the correct replacement parts. A 2024 Reddit commenter said Pratico's in Rutland came out to Woodstock for a fence job about five years earlier and was satisfied with the quality, price and timeliness. The work goes beyond fences and beds. A 2025 reviewer called Pratico's the go-to for rebuilding, maintaining and repairing a long driveway in rural Vermont, and credited the company with drainage, new stone embankments and anti-erosion work. A 2026 customer said the work was done faster than promised and the bill came in under the estimate, and a 2026 review from the Mendon Historical Society described a landscaping project to enhance the town's history kiosk as flexible, thorough and reasonably priced.
