Woodpeckers got into one homeowner's siding. In a July 2024 review, the customer said Preserve Services repaired that damage along with some rotted trim. It was not a one-off: a May 2024 customer had several rotted clapboards and more rotted trim replaced, and in September 2024 another described a fifty-year-old house that needed external carpentry for rotted boards and sills where water had damaged the shiplap siding, on top of the painting. Preserve Services is a locally owned Shrewsbury company that says it has thirty years behind it, covering painting, roofing, siding, decks and carpentry for homes and businesses. Carol owns and runs it, and most of these accounts name her. Google's 19 ratings average 5.0. The painting runs inside and out. A July 2026 customer had the interior done at a competitive price and said the crew left the house spotless; another that month had the whole house primed and painted after a thorough prep; a June 2026 homeowner had the exterior repainted. A June 2025 job combined plaster, paint and board replacement, and a July 2025 customer had trim replaced, the house repainted, and the deck stripped and stained. In October 2025, a roof was shingled and gutters added on a house its owner called old and tricky, and the place was left clean. People come back. A March 2025 reviewer called it their fourth project with Carol; a June 2026 customer listed porch flooring, exterior paint and new privacy fencing on the deck across their visits; a May 2026 customer has used Preserve at their home, their business and a rental. Money talk is steady as well — a July 2025 customer was charged what was originally quoted, an October 2024 customer said the estimate was fair and came with no pressure, and a February 2025 reviewer called Carol honest about both price and schedule. For exterior paint on a house that needs carpentry first — rotted trim, clapboards, sills — Carol's crew is a sensible call from Shrewsbury out to Grafton, Hopkinton, Littleton and Groton. Have the rot repair scoped and priced in the same quote as the paint, and settle the start and finish dates up front.
