Pristine Painting Services, LLC

Old houses are where this crew earns its money. A homeowner with peeling calcimine ceilings in two rooms wrote in December 2023 that Mark came right over, assessed both and offered two different solutions — one for each room — then showed up and finished when he said he would. In November 2022, another customer had long-neglected walls, ceilings, stair risers, doors and wood trim painted in a house whose horsehair plaster was full of large cracks and holes; the repairs, they said, were done extremely well. Pristine Painting Services is owner-operated out of Gloucester by Mark Dupee, who the company says started painting as a summer job and grew it into the business. It covers interior and exterior house painting plus deck refinishing and staining across the North Shore, from Rockport and Manchester-by-the-Sea down to Marblehead. On Google it holds a 5.0 across 53 ratings. The detail customers reach for is the edge work. An April 2025 homeowner pointed to the clean lines around windows and crown molding that made the new colors look crisp. An August 2025 client had a complex shiplap interior painted, and in October 2022 a customer had board-and-batten siding and trim repainted, then brought the team back for a kitchen ceiling that needed meticulous prep. Care around the house comes up as often as the paint. A July 2024 reviewer said the outdoor plantings looked as if they had never been touched, and a March 2025 customer said the house was left spotless. Writing in March 2024, a homeowner described Mark as clear and concise about estimates and expectations, and said he does what he says he will. The written history here runs from 2021 to 2026, with the most recent account in June 2026 from a repeat client on their second batch of projects. For an older North Shore home that needs plaster, ceilings or fussy trim dealt with before the color goes on, this is the small, owner-run shop for it. Ask Mark to spell out the repair and prep work in the estimate — that is what these jobs turn on — and whether deck staining can ride along on the same visit.
