Fifteen reviews arrived in the last six months, and they keep describing the same job: an old oil or gas furnace out, a heat pump in, with the Mass Save paperwork handled along the way. Pro Comfort Control works out of Ashland, and rebate-driven heating conversions are plainly where its work sits. A February customer said the team walked them through every step of the process including the Mass Save paperwork; a January customer on Angi said the rebate was applied upfront so it came off the job cost instead of arriving later. The bigger jobs are where the specifics get interesting. A Natick homeowner in July described a seven-unit mini-split install that turned into a full 200-amp service upgrade, because the house had only a 100-amp panel. In April, someone who had already collected quotes from four other HVAC contractors picked them because their assessment was the most complete — mapping out how a Bryant 5-ton heat pump could replace both a 28-year-old oil furnace and a same-aged 4-ton AC unit. Another February reviewer weighed three heat-pump installers suggested through Mass Save and found this one more thorough through the process. They take the small emergencies too. A January customer came home to a dead furnace, got someone the same day, and had heat again after a part run. A December visitor to Ashland said the tech handling their mother's no-heat call also checked the water heater to make sure it was safe and charged nothing for it. The plumbing side is real work, not a sideline: a Framingham homeowner replaced a leaking gas water heater with a Navien tankless, another went tankless after moving to Ashland, and one December job was an automatic leak-detection and water-shutoff device. Google averages 4.9 across 24 ratings, Angi 5.0 across 24, and the BBB page is an A+, accredited since October 2020. One caveat on those stars. The December 2025 three-star review — from a homeowner billed just under $600 to repair a gas-line leak and re-pipe a section into their furnace — notes that the company gives a $15 discount for leaving a review, and that the office followed up with them about it. The technician's work was not the complaint; the nudge was. Worth knowing when you read the averages. The written record runs 2021 through 2026 across six sources, and the older entries read much like the new ones. A 2022 customer whose 30-year-old cast-iron boiler banged every time it fired said they chose the company off its BBB photos of technical work. A 2021 customer had an oil boiler converted to high-efficiency gas, and mentioned that the wall the boiler hung on was repainted afterward. BBB lists a Massachusetts Board of State Examiners of Plumbers and Gas Fitters license for the company, number 34122, expiring in 2028 — that is the bureau's listing rather than something confirmed against the state registry, so ask to see it. For a Mass Save heat-pump conversion around Ashland and Framingham, this is a shop that has done a lot of them.
“Ryan McKernan owns Pro Comfort Control, a plumbing, heating and cooling company servicing homes and light commercial buildings.”
“Ryan and his crew presented excellent options and provided professional installation.”
We had Pro Comfort Solutions install a seven-unit mini-split system in our home in Natick, and the experience was excellent from start to finish. This was a very involved project because we only had a 100-amp electrical panel, so the job required a full 200-amp service upgrade, excavation, new underground cables, and the installation of all seven indoor units. The crew worked incredibly hard over the course of three days and often stayed well past what seemed like normal working hours to make sure everything stayed on schedule. They were friendly, professional, and took the time to explain what they were doing and answer all of our questions throughout the installation. Despite the complexity of the project and some protracted timelines at the front of the job, they completed installation within the quoted window. So far, we’re very happy with both the quality of the installation and the performance of the mini-split system. We’d definitely recommend Pro Comfort Solutions to anyone looking for a knowledgeable, hardworking, and reliable HVAC installer.
Installed a Hot Water tank with a mixing valve. They did a great job.
Pro Comfort installed a new heat pump system, replacing our previous oil and central AC system, and installed a new hot water heater. They were highly professional in all aspects of the job, including all scheduling and follow up after the job with office staff, evaluating our needs and putting together (and explaining) the estimates for the various options, and the actual installation. Everyone we interacted with was courteous, punctual, and all work was completed on schedule or ahead of the original schedule. The work was performed in a highly professional manner. They also left the job site clean and clear. I highly recommend Pro Comfort Control.
We had Pro Comfort install a new heat pump. It was a good experience. Thank you to Josh and Nicole for setting up the Mass Save energy audit and filing all the paperwork . During the walk through with Josh and Ryan, some unexpected things were discovered. They informed me of it and were very fair about it. The guys doing the install, Joe, Jay and Sean, were on time for the 2 day project. They did a great job installing the equipment and just in time for the hot weather. Connor and Gabe did a great job with the electrical work. I enjoyed working with the whole team. I highly recommend them for your HVAC projects.
Such an absolutely incredible company - their communication, organization, and professionalism is unmatched. We are so happy with their work and cannot wait to work with them in the future!
