Rotted trim and clapboard come up almost as often as paint in ProServ Painters' reviews. The Canton company, run by Jamie (James A.) Cox with Adam as foreman, says Cox has painted homes and commercial properties since 1994 and began running ProServ as an independent business in 2020. Its Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration, #142109 in James Cox's name, is active, and the BBB grades it A+. Google shows 5 stars from 38 ratings and Angi 4.9 from 15. In a September 2024 review, a homeowner whose exterior Jamie had painted three times said Adam spotted a damaged window sill during the estimate and suggested an inexpensive repair instead of replacing the window. Another September 2024 customer had about three-quarters of the wood trim around windows and doors replaced with PVC. An April 2023 review described an 1890 Victorian in Norton with lots of scraping and replaced boards, and a November 2022 customer described the crew repairing water damage from a burst pipe and replacing basement insulation, with Jamie adjusting his interior quote. Repeat work is common: a May 2024 couple said it was the fourth time Jamie's team had painted their house, and an April 2024 reviewer said they had used the crew for almost 30 years. Interior jobs show up too, including wallpaper removal and drywall repairs in an April 2025 review, and a November 2025 customer said the crew was in and out in under three days. Price is mixed. An August 2022 reviewer said ProServ's quote was higher than three others and was chosen partly because James understood local lead abatement rules; a September 2024 reviewer called the bid very competitive.
