Fifteen Google ratings across five years is a short book to judge a painter by — and the newest entry in it is a complaint about furniture rather than about paint. Prusik Painting works out of 68 Central St in North Reading, doing interiors and exteriors for homeowners alongside commercial and multi-unit work. Frank Prusik runs it, and the company says it has been painting in Massachusetts since 1987. Its Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration is active, held with the state under Prusik Painting Company Inc. The through-line in what customers write is finish detail. A homeowner preparing a 110-year-old house for sale hired the crew in February 2026 for exterior power washing and interior painting and credited the result with helping the house move quickly. In January 2026 a resident of a townhouse development described the buildings being repainted with careful, clean work and clear communication throughout. The 2023 reviews run the same way: an exterior repaint finished quickly and within budget, an interior job from a customer who called the crew professional and clean, and one client who said Prusik had done more than ten jobs for him personally and for his business. Then there is the June 2026 review, and it is the one to read closely. That customer had both the inside and outside of the house painted and said the crew was rough moving furniture, damaged several pieces, broke attachments on the garden hoses they used, and left paint on doorknobs and towel racks — polite people, in their telling, but not careful with belongings. It is recent, it is specific, and it is about handling rather than about the paintwork itself. So ask about protection before booking: who moves the furniture, what gets covered and taped, and who is responsible if something is marked. The site says the painters are Lead-Safe Certified, which is the company's own claim — worth asking to see the EPA firm certification if your house predates 1978. Worth noting too that the company's history is told two ways: its own site dates the business to 1987, while its BBB file records a start date of 2010. That BBB page carries an A+ grade, and the same page states the business is not BBB accredited; those are two separate facts. The fit here is a homeowner who wants a small, established local crew for a full interior or exterior repaint, or a property manager with buildings to keep up. “I can't say enough about this company! Frank and his employees have done”
“As I was getting ready to sell my 110-year old house, I turned to Prusik Painting to do both exterior power washing and interior painting. They did an excellent result.”
We used Prusik Painting to paint the inside and outside of our house. The people were very nice, but EXTREMELY rough when moving our furniture to paint. They damaged multiple pieces of our furniture which we are very aggravated about. They also messed with our hoses when using the water and broke multiple attachments we had. Lastly, they got paint on doorknobs and towel racks when painting. They are not careful of gentle people, I would not suggest using them.
As I was getting ready to sell my 110-year old house, I turned to Prusik Painting to do both exterior power washing and interior painting. They did an excellent result. The new paint really refreshed the look of my house and I am convinced it helped me sell it quickly. I would definitely use Prusik Painting again!
While I have not personally used Frank Prusik’s services, I have been consistently impressed with how he shows up professionally. Frank is highly responsive, communicates clearly, and follows through, which makes him easy to trust and easy to work with. It is obvious he takes his work and relationships seriously, and he is a great person to have in your network.
Frank and his team at Prusik Painting have done an outstanding job painting the townhouse buildings where I live. The quality of their work definitely stands out - great attention to detail, clean and careful work, and everything done with a lot of pride and professionalism. The crew was easy to work with, respectful of the property, and they communicated clearly throughout the process. We’ve been extremely happy with the results and feel confident having them back for ongoing and future painting projects. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Prusik Painting.
Frank and Prusik Painting are the best of the best. Can not recommend his services enough!
