Queen City Plumbing & Heating says on its Thumbtack profile that Roland Gosselin started the business in 1963 and that his son Joe later took over the family business. Its BBB profile describes plumbing installations for new kitchens and bathrooms, hydro-jet pipe cleaning and blockage removal, and sewer, water-heater and boiler maintenance and repair. A recent Thumbtack customer woke up to water leaking from a ceiling and light fixture; the company set up a visit the same day, fixed the issue, came back the same day to fix another issue with the pipes, and also fixed another sink in the house. In a 2024 review, a customer who was 1500 miles away said they came when they said they would and got the house heat after the oil had run out on a very cold day. In a 2023 review, a customer said Jim tried an auger on a kitchen sink clog before the old cast iron pipe was replaced, working in a rather tight space. A 2024 reviewer said Eric and Dan arrived on time, were clear about what the cost would be, and demonstrated that the fixtures worked when they were done. A recent Google reviewer said the plumber was a no-show for a bathtub appointment and that the Friday morning visit was cancelled again. In a 2025 review, a customer said the office manager seldom responded to emails, the office phone was never answered, the job had multiple leaks when it was finished, and they no-showed a follow-up visit without calling to reschedule. A recent landlord said the only options offered for a kitchen sink replacement were a $350 Kohler or a basic sink faucet.
Queen City Plumbing & Heating to the rescue! We woke up to a room that had water leaking from the ceiling and light fixture. Thought it was our roof but it was not. the company quickly reached out to us to set up a time the same day and before 5pm. The fixed the issue, and came back the same day to fix another issue with the pipes. The company also took the time to fix another sink in the house which needed attention. The best experience while dealing with an issue no one expected.
I had a kitchen sink that needed to be replaced and the only options from Queen City was a $350 Kohler instead of replacing the $80-$100 Glacier Bay. It would have been $100 in hourly rate to send the tech to Home Depot to get one. I was very disappointed in Queen City arriving to the job with a very high end replacement. The only other option was a basic sink faucet, which I didn't want to completely downgrade my tenants sink and be a cheapskate landlord. I guess it's my fault for not prr purchasing the faucet I wanted ahead of time, but I didn't know it needed to be fully replaced until the tech was there. I'm just disappointed, everything else was fine. If I use Queen City again it will only be out of an emergency where I can't fina anyone else.
I reached out to Queen City Plumbing for a fairly basic bathtub issue. I set up an appointment and their plumber was a no-show. I received a phone call 10 minutes prior to my appointment explaining the plumber was in another town, running late, blah blah blah. This was 2pm in the afternoon so, not too sure why the fellow couldn’t show up at all, as opposed to coming late. I was told he would be there first thing the following morning (Friday). Friday morning arrived and they cancelled again. I received a text citing their plumber was sick and, “could I reschedule to the next business day?” So, my Thursday appointment now turns into an appointment the following week? I called to see if I had any other options but, nobody answered my call or returned my voicemail. Very unprofessional, and no pride in being customer centric. I wouldn’t waste your time with this company. If their customer service is any indication of their quality of work, you’re better off finding another company.
Working with Queen City Plumbing was extremely challenging, mostly due to a dysfunctional office team. The office manager seldom responds to emails - most of my emails to them received no response. Their office phone was never answered. The only way I could successfully reach them was by calling the office manager on his cell phone - every time I reached him he claimed he was "not in the office" and would respond to my requests when he returned to the office. Of course he never did. The plumbing work itself was also disappointing. The initial job was not finished on the originally scheduled date, with no return date scheduled. I had to reach out to get the follow-up date set. When the job was finally finished, there were multiple leaks. Due to poor office management, it took weeks to get a follow-up visit scheduled. And then when the day finally came, they no-showed without calling to reschedule. They ultimately finished the job, but not without me holding their hand through the entire process. If there was anything positive about this experience, the pricing was great. But, you get what you pay for.
My urgent project get done with in few hours so I am very thankful with service they provide.
