Bob and his sons sell and install kitchens out of a shop in Pembroke, and the customers who wrote about them kept naming names: Bob at the design screen, Kenny in the shop, Gary putting the cabinets together on site. One June 2017 reviewer was buying their fourth kitchen from the company. R&K Cabinets, which also trades as The Kitchen & Vanity Shoppe, is a family-owned cabinet dealer and installer working Pembroke and Stoughton. The shop manufactured its own cabinets until the early 2000s, the site says, then moved to selling factory-made lines while keeping a bench for custom pieces and field repairs, with CAD kitchen design behind it. Past kitchens, the listed work runs to bathroom vanities, built-ins, bookcases, pantries, entertainment centers, home bars and walk-in closets. Customers wrote about the design end as much as the carpentry. In a May 2018 review, a homeowner described sitting at the office in front of a large screen, looking at a graphic layout of the kitchen before anything was ordered, and named the installer who assembled the cabinets. Another that month wrote that it ran from choosing cabinets and hardware through countertops to installation without stress. A November 2018 customer said the kitchen came in on time and on budget, and a June 2019 reviewer called the product quality the best they had found at reasonable prices, crediting Bob and his sons with following through. The written history here is dated: the eight reviews on Houzz run from 2017 to 2019, where the company holds a 5.0 rating, three Houzz awards and two badges. Its own site counts 20 years in business; the Houzz profile says more than 22. For a kitchen where the cabinets are the centerpiece — or a run of built-ins, a pantry, a closet — this is a dealer with a design room and its own installers. Ask who will be on the install crew, and since the written accounts are from 2017 to 2019, ask for a couple of recent addresses you can go and look at.
