RCS Carpentry & Painting works out of 12 Pleasant St in Andover and is run by Roberto, who the company says oversees every job personally. It describes itself as family-owned with more than 16 years in carpentry and painting, working across Andover and surrounding communities for homeowners and businesses, on Monday-to-Saturday hours. The two trades sit side by side in what it sells: residential and commercial painting, cabinet painting, carpentry framed around new doors and windows, deck remodeling, kitchen and bathroom remodeling, power washing, drywall repair and texturing, and tile work. What customers have written this spring and summer is consistent and concrete. A homeowner had a basement project finished using materials they already had, on a quick turnaround. Another had garage stairs rebuilt to take a new car, and reported the crew put in long days to finish fast and were clean and respectful of the property — that reviewer had worked as a general contractor for fifteen years and said the quality was great. A third hired RCS to paint and repair an outside deck and called the result outstanding with a very professional crew. A fourth brought a smaller, highly specialised job full of unknowns and said the team adapted so the carpentry came out well. That pattern — stairs, decks, basements, exterior carpentry, and painting alongside it — runs back through several years of feedback, all of it five-star, with reviewers repeatedly describing punctuality, tidiness and a crew that cleans up. The volume is modest: ten Google ratings in total, and Google is the only platform carrying them. Two things to sort out before you hire. Neither the company's website nor its BBB profile states a licence or registration number, insurance or bonding — and because the work advertised includes kitchen and bathroom remodels, decks and carpentry rather than painting alone, ask for the Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration in writing. And the sources disagree on the size and age of the business: BBB records one employee and a file opened only in February 2022, while the website and the reviews both describe a crew and claim sixteen years. For deck rebuilds, stairs, basement finishing and exterior carpentry with the painting handled by the same crew, the feedback is unusually consistent for a shop this size. I had a great experience with Roberto. He was able to help me finish up a basement project with items I already had and a quick turnaround. Highly recommend working with him if you need someone handy!

Roberto and his guys rebuilt our garage stairs that needed to be reworked for a new car. They put in long days to get it done fast, they were clean and respectful of our property. I was a GC for 15 years so I can be a tough critic on quality. That said - the quality of the work is great - we’re thrilled. I’m happy to have found Roberto and I know we’ll be using him again for something in the future.

I had a smaller but very specialized job that had a bunch of unknowns and they were able to adapt to make sure that the carpentry work came out great.

Roberto is the consummate professional. He's timely, responsive, thorough, and great to work with. I can't recommend him highly enough! He's done fantastic work for me: a beautiful deck, an exterior staircase, and finished basement. RCS is a great company to work with.
