Record Electric is a Reading electrical contractor whose HomeAdvisor listing says it has been doing business locally since 1991. Its Massachusetts electrician license, #3998, is active on the state registry. People hire the company for household electrical work — outlet and fixture installs, troubleshooting, service calls — and reviews across Google and HomeAdvisor keep naming the owner, Ron, alongside technicians Dwain, Arnold, and Corey. Speed and communication are what keep coming up. A kitchen remodel review from July called the team professional, organized, and easy to work with from start to finish, and four more reviews from this spring and summer — installing outlets and light fixtures, cleaning up after themselves — were also five stars. Several reviewers over the past few years describe Ron responding the same day or next day; one HomeAdvisor reviewer said they keep a running list of small jobs for their older home and call once the list gets long enough. Most reviews call the pricing reasonable, though in 2023 and 2025 reviews a couple of customers praised the workmanship while noting it was pricey. One thing worth knowing: in a February 2026 review, a condo association said a knob-and-tube wiring inspection across several units missed some circuits and the promised estimate never arrived. It stands out as the one clearly negative account, and it involved a larger, multi-unit inspection rather than the single-family service calls most reviews describe. Permit records on BuildZoom also show the company's filed project count has slowed in recent years — 154 projects on file going back years, including a $58,500 2019 kitchen renovation and service change, but only about 10 filed in the last three. This is a strong call for routine household electrical work — outlet and fixture installs, troubleshooting, quick repairs — especially when a same-day or next-day response matters. For a larger job like a multi-unit inspection, confirm the scope and get the estimate timeline in writing before work starts.
We couldn’t be happier with the work Record Electric did on our kitchen remodel! From start to finish, the entire team was professional, organized, and incredibly easy to work with. They showed up when they said they would, kept the project moving on schedule, and left the work area clean at the end of each day. Their attention to detail and craftsmanship really stood out, and it’s clear they take pride in their work. Beyond the quality of the electrical work, everyone we interacted with was genuinely kind, courteous, and respectful. They took the time to answer our questions and made the whole process feel stress-free. If you’re looking for an electrical contractor who is reliable, talented, and a pleasure to work with, I can’t recommend Record Electric enough. Thank you for helping bring our dream kitchen to life!
They were 2 very polite young men. Did the work and cleaned up after themselves.
great work
Ron was prompt in responding to our project. He was efficient and knowledgeable of his craft. The project was to install several outlets in a few rooms. They also installed light fixtures in the attic and the garage which had no lighting at all. He quoted a price and time frame which was well worth the price. Arnold and Dwain were prompt and neat and completed the job in less than the time frame that was suggested.
Job was done quickly, professionally and at a fair price
