In October 2026, a customer with no water called Bill at Rhodes Pump Service and had Alden there with a new pump within the hour. It holds 4.9 stars from 97 Google ratings and an A+ BBB grade. In April 2026, a reviewer called on a Wednesday morning, had Dom at the house by 9:00 and a new pump and wiring installed by 12:00. In March 2026, a customer wrote that two young technicians pulled a pump from 160 feet down and replaced it, along with overheated wiring, in about 35° rain. An August 2026 reviewer said the crew excavated to find a buried well, brought the wellhead above ground and moved the equipment out of the basement, and a June 2026 customer described an Iron Buster system installed with a work area left cleaner than before. In October 2025, a customer wrote that the company came after hours when an old pipe started leaking. In a July 2026 one-star review, a first-time homeowner whose sewer system backed up wrote that the technician arrived without the tools to diagnose it, could not make a repair, and recommended snaking, and they were charged about $200 for the call. An April 2025 one-star reviewer said their calls went unreturned for two years after a pump replacement, and that another pump service found the wiring to the float badly spliced. In August 2025, a reviewer first wrote that the company would not travel 19 miles to change a filter, then updated the review to say owner Bill called to make things right. The Connecticut plumber licence PLM.0208015-J1, held by Rhodes Pump Service LLC, is inactive due to non-renewal, per the state registry. The company's site lists License # 0290544-j1.
“Give Bill at Rhodes Pump Service in Guilford a ring. He’s a good guy and will treat you fairly.”
Had an emergency with no water coming to our house. Called Bill at Rhodes and he had Alden servicing us with a new pump within the hour. It couldn’t have been a better experience and we are very grateful for everything.
Exceptional service. Was in a true bind after power went out in Madison today and water didn’t come back on. Bill (an angel) walked us through the restart and saved us a ton on a service call. As a senior with limited income, this was a lifesaver for us. Many thanks. 😊
We decided it was time to update our well pump, and we're so glad we chose Rhodes Pump Service. Along with replacing the pump, they excavated to locate our buried well, installed piping to bring the wellhead above ground, and relocated everything from our basement out to the well. It was a significant project, and they handled it with skill and professionalism from start to finish. This wasn't our first experience with Rhodes Pump Service, either. About two years ago, they installed a whole-house UV water filtration system for us, and they've been great about providing its annual maintenance ever since. It's been reassuring to have a company we can count on year after year. The entire crew is knowledgeable, hardworking, and takes the time to explain everything they're doing. They clearly take pride in their work, treat your home with respect, and make sure the job is done right. Finding contractors you truly trust isn't always easy, but Rhodes Pump Service has earned our confidence. We're so appreciative of everything they've done for our home, and we won't hesitate to call them again. In fact, we'll be having them back soon to update our sump pump. We highly recommend Rhodes Pump Service to anyone looking for honest, reliable, and high-quality service.
A great company with a great, reliable and efficient team! We contacted Rhodes Pump Service and they were prompt with their response as well as coming to service our well. No point in contacting anyone else. Rhodes is the best out there!!
Poor communication, an unprepared technician, and inconsistent pricing made this an extremely disappointing experience. I won't be using Rhodes Pump Service again. As a first-time homeowner, I called Rhodes Pump Service after my sewer system backed up and flooded part of my basement. Instead of recommending an inspection, I was initially told to "keep an eye on it." Only after it backed up again that same morning did they send someone out. The technician arrived without the basic tools needed to diagnose the problem, even telling me he didn't have them because of an issue with his truck. He repeatedly expected me to troubleshoot the system myself—checking breakers in my crawlspace, locating the pump station, and answering technical questions about a system their company installed. I explained multiple times that I wasn't familiar with it, yet I was repeatedly told I "wasn't listening."After confirming the line was backing up, he couldn't perform any repairs and simply recommended having it snaked. I was still charged about $200 for a service call that accomplished very little. To make matters worse, I was originally told the full service fee would be credited toward any repair, but after the visit that suddenly became only 50%.
