BBB files the business under Carpenter, and its own service list runs from renovations, additions and new home construction to custom cabinetry and, more unusually, mailboxes, cupolas, windmills and furniture. The permit history shows range more than volume. Six jobs are on file: a new Salisbury duplex in 2020 at $368,530, a Salisbury deck and roof-deck renovation in 2019 at $245,360, a Newburyport kitchen cabinetry and window job in 2022 at $39,684, a small Malden carpentry, tile and countertop job in 2018, and two Methuen permits — a 2011 gut renovation and a 2012 garage addition with rooms above. Real projects at real money, though the newest of them is four years old. What no source carries is a homeowner's voice. Neither BBB nor BuildZoom holds a single review, and BuildZoom's score of 91 is worked out from permits rather than customers. BBB grades the business A+ while stating it is not BBB Accredited — two separate facts, and the grade is BBB's own assessment, not a verdict from anyone who hired him. Licensing is where this gets tangled. BuildZoom prints a home improvement contractor registration, #126125, which it labels verified and active as of July 2026, plus two construction supervisor numbers, CS-053951 and CS-067249, both listed inactive with a note that each was at one point cancelled. None of that was checked against the state registry here. The profile's own employee block also gives four spellings of the owner's name, including a Richard L Fiorenza Sr, so some of those records may belong to a second, senior individual. For custom carpentry and cabinetry from a long-established one-man shop, this is a fair call to make. Before hiring, ask which construction supervisor licence is current, confirm the HIC registration with the state yourself, and ask for two or three references from the last few years plus addresses of work you can go look at.
