Six homeowners reviewed Richard Roczynski on Angi between April 2008 and March 2009, and every one gave five stars. The details ring true: in a March 2009 review, a customer wrote that the men phoned on their way to say they would be five minutes later than expected, worked thoroughly and politely, then followed up afterwards to confirm the job met expectations. Another, in May 2008, described a clean, quick, on-time installation at the best price, with the contractor able to supply the exact product they had specified. Two jobs from 2008 and 2009, each around $2,000, were described as on time and fairly priced. Nothing newer than March 2009 has been written by anyone who hired him. He works as a sole practitioner — plumbing, gas piping, boiler and water-heater work — filed at 132 Great Rd in Littleton, with the Angi profile under the trading name Roczynski Plumbing & Heating in Ayer, about five miles off. Seven permits sit on BuildZoom, dated 2008 to 2016, at job sites in Marlborough, Fitchburg, Methuen, West Newton, Westford and Belmont. The company says it has 37 years of experience, belongs to BNI, and is fully licensed and insured — its own statements, with no licence number given, and Angi notes that such claims there are self-reported only. Licensing is the thing to settle before hiring. BuildZoom lists six records under two numbers, 13448 and 24873, each appearing under several type labels, and marks every one inactive or at one point cancelled; for #24873 it says that at its last check, on 18 September 2024, the licence was expired. That is a directory's account rather than a registry check, and it has not been confirmed against the state here — but it sits directly against the self-reported line on Angi, and it is the first thing to ask about. The Angi page also disagrees with itself on emergency work: the About text offers emergency service, while the FAQ answers that the business does not. The praise is genuine and it is from a different decade. Ask for his current plumber or master plumber number and check it with the state yourself, and ask for references from work finished in the last year or two before booking.
