Rodenhiser Plumbing, Heating AC and Electric is a plumbing, heating, cooling and electrical company in Arlington, and a 2023 Houzz customer who headed the review "CROOKS!" said Rodenhiser installed an AC system for over $11,000 that soon completely failed, and that the company said a bad chemical reaction between the copper and the insulation in the wiring caused pinhole leaks that let the refrigerant out. The same 2023 reviewer wrote that the company said it had known about this faulty wiring problem six years earlier, used the faulty wiring anyway because it had purchased so much of it, and then wanted almost $6,000 to fix it; the reviewer said they were pursuing legal action. A 2022 Angi customer said that after hearing what the company wanted to do and what the parts would cost, she asked them to leave, got the parts free of charge from the company behind the original purchase and did the repair herself; she wrote that she felt they tried to take advantage of her as a woman. A 2021 Angi reviewer called the company very expensive for the easy job it was hired to do. An undated BBB reviewer said they were charged twice for a maintenance plan. An undated BBB reviewer pointed out an invoice above the quoted price. An undated BBB reviewer said a service tech called for coolant immediately. A usacomplaints.com post, also undated, says the company made errors installing a radiant floor heating system and caused damage to a new home. In a 2020 Angi review, a customer said Rodenhiser fixed a broken furnace on time and within budget, cleaned up after the repair and wore booties to protect the carpet; that 2020 customer named Mike R, Nick R and Adam S as providing the service. A 2020 Angi reviewer said Rodenhiser installed a 5-head Mitsubishi air/heat/fan system in an old house, with Dylan as crew leader and Ross speccing the system and managing the quote. A 2020 Houzz customer said Rick Picard and Nick Valenti replaced a failed 17-year-old central air system on short notice in the middle of a heatwave. In 2019, a Houzz reviewer said technician Stephen Poirier was sent right away for a weekend water leak, fixed the leak and also fixed another problem in the pipes. A 2021 Angi customer said the company replaced a leaking water heater in time for hot water on Monday morning. The Better Business Bureau grades the company A+ and lists it as accredited. A 2026 Angi reviewer gave five stars and wrote, "They were excellent, the 5 stars say it all."

Prompt, no issues.
CROOKS! Do not hire Rodenhiser. They recently installed an AC system in our house for over $11,000, which soon completely failed. They came out & said the wiring had a bad chemical reaction between the copper & the insulation, causing countless pinhole leaks which had caused the refrigerant to leak out. They said they had known about this faulty wiring problem 6 years ago, and that it had almost bankrupted them, but that they had purchased a lot of the wiring from a manufacturer who has since gone bankrupt due to this problem. So they used the faulty wiring anyway because they had purchased so much of it, and now they want almost $6,000 to fix the problem they were responsible for causing! Criminal negligence, we are pursuing legal action.
