Speed turns up again in a January 2026 account: a 1,000-square-foot old restaurant and bar floor, stained all over, started Friday morning and finished the next morning, leaving the space salon-ready. Ronnie Jr's Hardwood Floors works out of Hooksett, New Hampshire, sanding, refinishing and laying wood floors for homeowners and for other contractors who keep coming back — one company wrote in February 2024 that it had used them on new installs, repairs and refinish jobs for two to three years running. Google shows 5★ across 46 ratings; Angi shows 4.9 from 104. A lot of the work is old wood. In June 2026, a red maple job pulled carpet out of a living room, dining room, hallway and stairs, fixed cracks and went down in two days as scheduled with Bona water-based polyurethane — no smell. A 2024 customer's 47-year-old soft pine came back with no more divots or scratches, and a November 2025 customer had wide pine sanded and given multiple coats. In January 2024, a homeowner with a 100-year-old house had bad boards repaired and matched before five rooms and a grand staircase were finished. They also get called in behind other people. In August 2026, a homeowner whose porch vinyl had been badly done by the first contractor says Ronnie came in and fixed the mess; a January 2024 customer says he redid the work of a major well-known company. Two accounts are worth knowing before you book. A December 2023 Angi reviewer rated the job one star: the vacuum did not work, the house was left messy, the sanding was incomplete and the oil-based sealing poor quality. And in December 2025, a customer who had every room refinished found a flaw in each one — Ronnie came right back twice to fix them, and explained that the lot of stain had come bad from the manufacturer. For old pine, maple or oak you would rather save than replace, and for a job that has to happen this week, this is a strong call. Ask which finish is going down and whose stain it is, and settle how the dust is contained and who moves the furniture — those are the places where the work has gone wrong before.
