Verified record
Ryans Painting Plus Carpentry and Handyman Services is a Plymouth, Massachusetts handyman, painting and carpentry outfit; a BuildZoom directory listing also categorizes it for windows and doors, remodeling, drywall, and general contracting work. The public record here is thin and consistently negative. Two separate 2024 reviews, one on Google and one on BuildZoom, describe exterior painting and trim jobs that went badly. The Google reviewer says a promised three-week exterior paint and AZEK trim job stretched to roughly three months, with the contractor repeatedly missing agreed start times and blaming a mild winter for the delays; the review also describes trim being removed and the property left exposed to the elements, causing water damage, and says a partial refund was promised for unfinished work but never paid. The BuildZoom reviewer describes a separate $15,000 exterior trim and painting job with the same pattern — no-shows, poor workmanship that had to be redone by another contractor at double the cost, and a refund that was never honored. There is no independent praise on record to weigh against these accounts — the two reviews on file are the entirety of the written history currently available, and both land the business at a 1-star aggregate on their respective platforms. Anyone considering hiring should ask directly about current crew availability, a firm written timeline with consequences for delay, proof of insurance, and how the business handles exterior tear-outs mid-project so a home is not left open to weather.

Out side trim and painting repair, $15,000. I had the worst experience with Ryan's Painting Plus Carpentry and Handyman Services. He never showed up on time, and the work was so poor I had to have another contractor come in and fix it at double the cost. He always used weather as an excuse and agreed to refund some on my money for work not performed but will not return e-mails or phone calls. Homeowners watch out.
Home Owner beware: I had the absolute worst experience dealing with Ryan Painting Plus and Handyman Services. The job included painting the outside of the house and AZEK replacement trim work. A three week job was going on 3 months before I fired Ryan for both poor workmanship and refusal to meet any deadlines. He violated start times in the contract and ever showed up when he said he would. We had the mildest winter last year and he constantly used weather as an excuse. His equipment is substandard always breaking. Trim was removed and he left my property open to the elements causing water stains on the inside of my front door frame. He purchased the wrong product that I am now stuck with. Ryan spent my deposit money that was earmarked for product & supplies and never did the work. He agreed to refund my money and has been avoiding me for over 5 months. Ryan is not responding to texts, phone calls, or e-mails. I had to hire another contractor who had to remove all of Ryans trim work and finished it correctly. I now have to hire a painter to correct Ryans painting workmanship. This job has now cost me double my original budget. I will be a filing a complaint against Ryan in small claims court.
