S&J Tree Service & Landscaping

This is the worst and most frustrating experience ever! My neighbor and I hired S&J Tree Services and Landscaping (also doing business as T&T Tree Service and Landscape) on October 12, 2015 to remove three threes, grind down 3 stumps and removed a pile of grass clippings. They took payment, cut the trees, removed the grass clippings and never removed the stumps! After 6 months of being completely ignored by S&J, we had to spend an extra $400 to have another company remove these stumps so that we could continue our landscaping project! I took them to court in May 2016 and won. However, being an incredibly unethical business, they still defied the court orders to repay us back. Here are the horrific details about our entire experience with this unethical company. We hired them on September 10, 2015. Work started on October 12, 2015 when they cut the trees and removed the grass clippings. They informed us that their stump grinder is being repaired and that they will return on Saturday to grind it down. No one showed or called us on Saturday. After making numerous calls, one of the owner (Sam) finally answered the phone and told us that he'll have the primary owner and cousin, Anderson Teixeira, call us back on Monday with an update. Monday came and went and of course I did not get a call from Anderson or Sam. I continued to call and left messages and could not get a call back. Since they are only 2 miles from us, we decided to stop by their office on Tuesday. The lights were on. We heard noises inside but the door was locked and no one would answer our knock. We tried calling their cellphones, their office phone and we finally got through on October 21st. Someone actually answered the phone! She immediately informed us that we are on "top" of their list but "the machine is still broken. It will be fixed by tomorrow October 22" and that she will call us back to schedule the remainder of the work. Another week went by and it was cricket! My neighbor and I decided to stop by their office again at the end of October and this time, there was a gentlemen standing outside their front door. I asked if he worked for S&J and he immediately ran inside and locked the doors! We were shocked! We had plans for landscaping but could not move forward because the stumps were still there. After 6 months of trying to contact them without any success, I decided to involved the authority to help us resolve this issue. I took them to small claims court (Docket number 165SC00926; Judgement date 6/24/2016) and won. However, they still have not repaid us for the stumps grinding and pretty much ignored the court orders for payment. We should not have paid them until the work is 100% complete but we put too much trust in people. They took our money and ran. We were left with 3 stumps that costed us another $400 to remove by another landscaping company.

Quick, clean, and professional. Responded quickly to my initial phone call, did the job promptly and professionally. Would use them again.

It went very well! I wish they could have scheduled the work and completed the work a little quicker, though.

Anderson was very professional and responsive. We were introduced to him by our neighbor who had tree work done. The entire 5-man crew were very accommodating, performed excellently and left our property in very neat condition.

As stated above this was a massive project.. Tree work on 20 trees , removal of a 20' x 12 ' Shed , clean up of A LOT of debris , tearing up of 10,000 SQ FT of grass n weeds , and that was just the and quot;destructionand quot; - Anderson ( Owner ) of S and J then had to make my yard beautiful ... The Job couldn't have gone better ... S and J Started when promised and Finished early . Anderson the owner was always available to me and my wife , his workers were respectful and true Pros . As I said the Job couldn't have gone better and I would recommend S and J to anyone who is looking to work with true pros who do top notch work for a VERY reasonable price .
