A customer with an ice-dam hole in the kitchen wall put it plainly in a 2016 review: Sal closed it with plasterboard, skim-coated it, and now they can't tell where the repair was made. That disappearing act is what people hire Sal LaFauci for. A homeowner writing in December 2025 described him matching the existing plaster pattern across several patch locations in their ceilings so closely that the work looks like it was never needed. The Malden company runs on plaster and ceilings. Blueboard and cement, skim coat and stucco are what its Angi profile lists, along with 39 years in the trade. What reviewers actually bring him is damaged and crumbling walls, popcorn ceilings due for replacement, major drywall damage, and the plaster in old houses — one customer writes about a home over a hundred years old where he has worked on nearly every room. People come back. One household has used him since 2002 and says he has redone every room; another has had him in two or three times; a third picked him for a popcorn ceiling in June 2026 because he had already done most of their other ceilings. The habits they describe line up: calls returned quickly, reasonable pricing, timelines given up front, and flexibility when a date has to move — a 2017 customer shifted the job at the last minute over a possible structural issue, found him understanding about it, and called the business family-run and pleasant to have in the house. Two things to settle before booking. Customers describe him fitting them into a busy schedule, so ask when he can realistically start. And the platform numbers are not identical: Google shows 5 stars across 9 ratings, while Angi's 20 ratings break 95% five-star and 5% two-star. Ask for a recent reference if that gap matters to you. For a ceiling patch, a cracked wall in an old house, or plaster that has to match what is already there, this is a specialist, not a general contractor. Call early, and confirm whether the painting afterward is his job or yours.
Sal did a great job on my bedroom ceiling. We had a leak in our AC. Sal came down and fixed it. Looks just like new. Great guy too!
My popcorn ceiling needed replacing. I chose Sal because he’s done the majority of my ceilings and does a wonderful job

He has repaired cracked and crumbling walls in my living room. One area was difficult to reach behind the radiator and yet he made it look like new! Sal is professional, friendly and reasonable in his pricing. He is prompt, hard-working and gets the job done in good time. Over, Sal is respectful, polite and tidy. I highly recommend him for any plastering work you need done in your home or business!
