Shoreline Construction

Shoreline Construction is a one-man, owner-operated renovation business in Gloucester — John Buckner has been doing home design and renovation work, by his own account, for over 30 years. The company's Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration is active. What stands out across the reviews is the depth of the relationship customers describe. A 2023 review from a client who said they'd worked with John 'for many years, through many jobs' called his attention to detail and care for every project 'top notch.' A 2022 review from the same period listed the range of that work: skylight installations, a basement renovation, kitchen and bedroom work, dining and living room renovations, bathroom installations, and deck building — with the most recent job at the time being a kitchen repair after a kitchen fire. A separate 2022 Angi review described dismissing three other contractors from a Gloucester job site before settling on John, calling him honest, dependable, and reasonably priced, and an earlier 2020 review simply said he does what he says he'll do. There's a discrepancy worth flagging: the company's own website says John has 30 years of experience, while its Angi profile separately lists 10 years. Four reviews span 2020 to 2023 — dated, but consistent and specific across multiple jobs for the same repeat customers. For a broad renovation project in the Gloucester area — spanning multiple rooms or a multi-year relationship with the same contractor — this is a small, owner-run operation with a short written record but an unusually strong signal of repeat trust from the customers who've used him.
