Almost every call to Shoreline Home Services turns out to be about a door. Across 93 HomeAdvisor ratings averaging 4.9, the jobs homeowners describe are storm doors that won't latch, frames split by weather, a door that needs re-hanging — with deck and porch repair and exterior trim filling out the list. Its HomeAdvisor profile puts the business at 197 Water Street in Saugus and claims six years at the work. One name carries the reviews: Dan Swanson, written about by first name from 2023 straight through to this summer. Speed and small extras are the pattern in what people say. A homeowner writing in July 2026 had a deck repaired quickly and three other small repairs on the house exterior handled on the same visit; another in May 2026 had a door working properly within half an hour of Swanson arriving. In a 2025 review, a customer who had given up on a DIY Andersen storm door — three trips to Home Depot, mis-drilled holes — described calling Shoreline instead. Other 2025 reviewers mention next-day visits after a first call, a damaged door frame repaired and painted at a price the customer called reasonable, and a return trip to finish a lock that still wasn't right. Two things are worth knowing before you call. HomeAdvisor's own breakdown of those 93 ratings includes one at two stars, so the run isn't unbroken. And the "Approved" badge on the profile is HomeAdvisor's own screening designation, not a state registration — ask directly about registration and insurance for anything bigger than a repair. For a stuck storm door, a rotted frame, a deck board, or a punch list of small exterior fixes, this reads as a one-person shop with a long, consistent HomeAdvisor history behind it. Pin down the scope and price in writing, and ask what happens if the job needs a second visit.
Not only did he repair our deck quickly and well, he also noticed three other small repairs on the house exterior and took care of them as well. Absolutely great.
Dan was here as promised and punctual!! He arrived and got to work immediately and had the door working properly within half an hour!! Reasonably priced and courteous and a genuinely nice person!! I would not hesitate to call him when I need something done!! Thank you Dan!!
I tried to DIY an Andersen Storm Door at my daughter’s house. Every video I saw online made it look easy. 45 minutes tops….wrong…3 trips to Home Depot for the correct drill bits. Messed up drill template and holes didn’t line up. HELP … Connected with Shoreline Services. Dan came out, didn’t judge, quoted me a reasonable price, fixed the holes I drilled incorrectly and installed the door professionally, easily and quickly, without any sign of my amateurism. Thanks Dan Swanson at Shoreline for a job very well done! Next project, give Shoreline a call. You won’t be disappointed.
I had an old storm door that did not stay closed. I contacted Shoreline Home Services through Home Advisor. Mr Swanson came to my home very quickly and we looked at the problem. It was determined that I needed a new storm door. Mr Swanson helped me with the selection and ordering of a new storm door. When the new door arrived it was installed without delay. Installation was expertly done. From start to finish working with Shoreline Homer Services and Mr Swanson was an excellent experience.
