Shoreline Home Services is a Saugus, Massachusetts operation run by Dan Swanson, and if there's one job people call him for, it's a stuck or broken storm door. Homeowner after homeowner recounts the same scene: a door that won't close, a DIY project gone sideways, or a frame that needs replacing, and Dan showing up — often the next day — to sort it out. The track record is deep and consistent. Across 25 reviews spanning 2023 to 2026, all but one rate the work 5 stars, and HomeAdvisor's own tally backs that up: 4.9 stars from 93 ratings, 96% of them five-star. Customers keep returning to a handful of specifics — Dan repairing a damaged door frame and painting it to match, re-hanging an old custom storm door after a homeowner got quoted "crazy" prices elsewhere, or fixing a botched DIY drill job without leaving any sign the homeowner had gotten there first. A few reviews go past the door itself: one customer had him look at a deck repair, and he flagged and fixed three other exterior issues on the house while he was there. Pricing comes up unprompted and consistently as fair rather than cheap-sounding, and several reviewers specifically mention he did more work than they'd asked for at the quoted price. One quirk worth knowing before calling: HomeAdvisor's own "About us" write-up on the Shoreline Home Services profile is written under a different business name, Shoreline Roofing & Construction — likely leftover boilerplate from a related listing, but worth confirming which entity you'd actually be contracting with. For storm door repair, exterior trim work, or a stuck door that needs an actual fix rather than a replacement quote, this is a one-person outfit whose reviews describe the same kind of visit over and over.
Typical Greater Boston range for this kind of work, from regional averages — not a quote from Shoreline Home Services. Use it to sanity-check bids, then get the real number in writing.

Not only did he repair our deck quickly and well, he also noticed three other small repairs on the house exterior and took care of them as well. Absolutely great.
Dan was here as promised and punctual!! He arrived and got to work immediately and had the door working properly within half an hour!! Reasonably priced and courteous and a genuinely nice person!! I would not hesitate to call him when I need something done!! Thank you Dan!!
I tried to DIY an Andersen Storm Door at my daughter’s house. Every video I saw online made it look easy. 45 minutes tops….wrong…3 trips to Home Depot for the correct drill bits. Messed up drill template and holes didn’t line up. HELP … Connected with Shoreline Services. Dan came out, didn’t judge, quoted me a reasonable price, fixed the holes I drilled incorrectly and installed the door professionally, easily and quickly, without any sign of my amateurism. Thanks Dan Swanson at Shoreline for a job very well done! Next project, give Shoreline a call. You won’t be disappointed.
great experience. friendly quick and efficient!
I had an old storm door that did not stay closed. I contacted Shoreline Home Services through Home Advisor. Mr Swanson came to my home very quickly and we looked at the problem. It was determined that I needed a new storm door. Mr Swanson helped me with the selection and ordering of a new storm door. When the new door arrived it was installed without delay. Installation was expertly done. From start to finish working with Shoreline Homer Services and Mr Swanson was an excellent experience.
