SkyHook Tree works out of 9 Harding St in South Grafton and is run by Jason Magnusson, whose father Helge founded the business after the 1953 Worcester tornado -- pilots on the USS Hornet had nicknamed him "Skyhook" when he came in to land, and the name stuck. BBB records the corporation as started in 1955 with a change of ownership in 2000. The work customers describe is straightforward residential tree work done fast. A February 2026 homeowner had cut into their own tree, had their equipment fail and left it leaning over the house; they wrote that Jason and Robert arrived within an hour, in the dark and below freezing, and saved the roof. A June 2026 customer with a downed tree had a crew the very next day. An October 2025 customer had two oaks overhanging a driveway trimmed in about an hour and a half and called the price very fair. Cleanup and pricing come up in almost every account. Reviewers describe spotless yards, everything hauled away, and quotes that beat the competition -- one customer wrote that SkyHook came in under the two other prices they had gotten. Several are repeat customers. Word of mouth outside the review sites points the same way. A commenter in a 2023 r/WorcesterMA thread asking for tree companies with cranes called them fantastic and noted the crane availability, and a Southborough neighbourhood thread after a storm carried a resident's recommendation with the owner's name and number attached. What to weigh: the public review record is small and new -- twelve reviews, all from 2024 onward, all five stars -- so there is no long published track record to read, only a long trading history. The company also states its tenure two different ways on its own site ("since 1953" alongside "Over 30 Years of Experience"), which most likely reflects the 2000 ownership change rather than an error.
